Domestic Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33 year-old male at 3:25 am this morning at his residence and charged him with one count of assault, three counts of threatening death and one count of criminal harassment.

It is alleged that since his ex-girlfriend ended a relationship with the accused in October, he has assaulted her, has continuously threatened to kill her, and has called her numerous times, harassing her.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Charged with Numerous Counts of Possession of Stolen Property

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Nicholas Wiles of 215 Spruce Street on the 22nd of November at 3:20 pm at his residence and charged him with thirteen counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

It is alleged that on the 19th and 22nd of November the accused attended at a local pawn shop and pawned numerous stolen items, including jewellery, several Nintendo Wii and Xbox games, a Wii controller and a Nintendo Wii console. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of December.

Theft/Mischief Reports

• On the 22nd of November around 9:52, a male entered a vehicle on Pageant Drive, stole money from a purse that had been left inside and fled. He was described as being approximately 6’1, 200 pounds, wearing beige hoody, a gray ball cap and jeans.

• A faceplate for a car stereo was stolen from a vehicle on Simpson Street.

• A vehicle had a window smashed and was entered on Third Avenue. A purse that had been left inside was reported taken.

• A vending machine at Sault College was damaged and had money taken from it.

• A window was broken at a local downtown bar.

• A front window was broken at a residence on Malabar Drive.
