Male Wanted on Outstanding Theft Charges Arrested: 37 year-old Christopher Halls of #302-631 Macdonald Avenue, wanted on outstanding theft related charges, was located in a vehicle on Albert Street East and arrested on the 17th of November at 3:40 pm
Male Wanted on Outstanding Theft Charges Arrested:

37 year-old Christopher Halls of #302-631 Macdonald Avenue, wanted on outstanding theft related charges, was located in a vehicle on Albert Street East and arrested on the 17th of November at 3:40 pm. He has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.00, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of unlawfully at large and four counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 9th and of 10th November the accused attended at the Esso Tiger Express on Trunk Road and the Mac’s Mart on Wellington Street West and stole some lottery scratch tickets. The accused was captured on store video committing the thefts. At the time of his arrest, the accused was found in possession of morphine and a stolen licence plate on his vehicle. The accused was also wanted for being unlawfully at large from the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre from the 13th of November as he failed to report on the day. During the incidents, the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driving Arrest:

41 year-old Shane Miller of #9-1712 Ashmun Street, Sault Ste. Marie Michigan was arrested on the 18th of November at 12:35 am at Canada Customs on Huron Street and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 18th of November at approximately 12:35 am the accused was operating a vehicle and was stopped and checked at Canada Customs. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol and registered a fail on the roadside screening device. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Drug Possession Charges:

30 year-old Bobbie Lynn Lendrum of 19 Clearview Drive was arrested on the 17th of November at 1:38 pm at her residence and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug. It is alleged that on the 17th of November at approximately 1:38 pm city police were at the residence of the accused investigating an unrelated matter and found her to be in possession of 6.3 grams of cannabis marijuana. She is to appear in court on the 14th of December.

Youth Arrested at Local Youth Home:

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested on the 17th of November at 11:50 am at a local youth home and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on this date at 11:45 am police were called to the youth home regarding the accused causing a disturbance and out of control. Officers discovered that the accused threw household items at a staff member and damaged some property in the home. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Report:


A residence in the 600 block of Second Line West was entered sometime between the 16th and 17th of November. Nothing was reported taken.

Theft Reports:

• The gated compound at Avery Construction was entered on the 15th of November from 6 pm to 8 pm. Eight Acetylene Bottles used for welding were reported stolen.
• Bikes were reported stolen from the 200 block of Old Garden River Road and St. Georges Avenue.

Mischief Reports:

• Solar Lights on the property of a residence on Laronde Avenue were reported damaged.
• The outdoor sign at the Eastside Confectionary was reported damaged.
• Two windows at the Odd Fellows Hall on Dennis Street were reported damaged.
