Two Males Arrested with Drug Related Offences On the 16th of November members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police concluded a drug investigation in relation to drug trafficking.
Two Males Arrested with Drug Related Offences
On the 16th of November members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police concluded a drug investigation in relation to drug trafficking. During the investigation three search warrants were executed, two were at local residences and one was at a home in Heyden, Ontario. As a result two males were arrested and charged with drug related offences and a quantity of drugs were located and seized. The two males were arrested at 2 pm just outside a residence on Allen’s Side Road. At the time of the arrest, one of the males was found in possession of 28.7 grams of (crack) cocaine. During the search of that residence, officers located a further 2.6 grams of crack cocaine, packaging materials, a digital scale and container. When officers searched the Heyden residence belonging to of one of the accused, officers located 7.5 grams of cannabis marihuana, 324 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, a digital scale, packaging and a quantity of cash. The two males that were arrested are Rickey Frigault, age 24 of 9 Ascot Avenue, charged with one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. The second male, Alan Bertrand age 25 of 6 Linden Drive in Heyden Ontario, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, and was on a probation order to keep the peace and be good and was further charged with one count of breach of probation. They are to appear in bail court this morning.

Purse Snatching Investigation Results in Three More Arrests
Investigations Services officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have concluded their investigation in relation to the purse snatching incident that occurred at Rome’s Independent Grocers on the 11th of September. As a result, 38 year-old Cindy Diamond of #5-569 Queen Street West was arrested at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Center on the 16th of November at 10:15 am and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. She is to appear in bail court this morning. The two other females, 20 year-old Hannah Harvey and 36 year-old Crystal Harvey, both of #207-441 Queen Street West, were arrested at their residence yesterday afternoon and charged each with one count of theft under $5,000. They are to appear in court on the 20th of December. The three were allegedly involved in the theft of the purse from a shopper’s cart and were captured on store security surveillance cameras.

Shoplifting Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 47 year-old Edward Martel of #205-41 Old Garden River Road at the Metro Store on Northern Avenue last night and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of breach of fail to appear court and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that he attended at the store last night and stole some meat and cheese. At the time of the offence, the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breach of probation and failing to appear in court. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Impaired Driver Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Matthew Sloss of 16 Root River Trailer Park at 2:15 am this morning and charge him with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that around 2:13 am this morning officers on routine patrol observed a Chevy Camaro that was westbound on St. Georges Avenue travelling at a very high rate of speed and in an erratic manner in the area of Walnut and Birch Street. Officers stopped and checked the vehicle on Walnut Street and at the time the driver, the accused, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested. He is to appear in court on the 20th of December.

Male Arrested for Assault on Female
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 68 year-old Roderick Mackay of #1-664 Frontenac Street on the 16th of November at 7:37 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 16th of November at approximately 12:50 pm the accused assaulted a female by punching her in the arm area while outside of her residence.

Disqualified Driver Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 43 year-old Sean McLarty of 55 Edison Avenue at 2:15 am this morning on Northland Road and charged him with one count of drive while disqualified. It is alleged that officers observed the accused operating a Ford Pickup on Wellington Street West and at the time he was disqualified from driving. He is to appear in court on the 20th of December.
