Domestic Related Arrest Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth on the 15th of November at 5 pm and charged him with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.
Domestic Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 17 year-old male youth on the 15th of November at 5 pm and charged him with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 15th of November the accused assaulted his girlfriend while at a downtown residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions that he keep the peace and be good. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Charged for Uttering Counterfeit Money and Breach of Probation

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35 year-old Dale Lacko of Room#11-864 Queen Street East on the 16th of November at 3:27 am at his residence and charged him with one count of uttering counterfeit money and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 15th of November at approximately 10:45 pm the accused was at a local downtown bar and used a counterfeit U.S. $50 bill to purchase a bottle of beer and then further changed a second U.S. $50 bill to Canadian currency. The accused consumed half of the beer and then left the bar.

An employee examined the bills and discovered that they were counterfeit and called the police. Police later located the accused at his residence and arrested him.

At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions that he not consume any alcohol. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Youth Charged with Drug Trafficking

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 16 year-old male youth on the 15th of November at 12:05 pm and charged him with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on the 15th of November the accused was observed smoking marijuana with two other youths behind a local business on Second Line East.

The accused was found in possession of 14 grams of marijuana in individual dime bags at the time and was subsequently charged.

He is to appear in court on the 13th of December. The other two youths were dealt with under the Youth Criminal Justice Act Diversion Program.

Shoplifting Charges

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Jordon Cimino-Williamson of 170 Albert Street West on the 15th of November at 3:10 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 14th of November at approximately 2:45 pm the accused attended at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Great Northern Road and stole a hair straightener valued at approximately $60.00.

Security officers attempted to apprehend the accused outside the store but he fled on foot. The accused was captured on store security video. The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of December.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Daniel Parker of 14 Wildwood Drive, Heyden, Ontario on an outstanding warrant at 5:55 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of fail to appear for prints. It is alleged that he failed to appear for prints at the police station on the 13th of October in relation to an impaired driving related charge. He is to appear in court on the 19th of December.

Break and Enter/Theft Reports

• A residence on Albert Street West was entered on the 15th of November just before 6:30 pm. A Laptop was reported stolen.

• Gas was reported siphoned from vehicles at a business on Bruce Street.

• A vehicle was broken into in a parking lot on Wallace Terrace. A wallet was reported taken.

• A backpack that contained college books was reported taken from the Station Mall.
