Assault With A Baseball Bat A 21-year old male will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 4th of November the accused assaulted his common law wife by hitting her with a baseball bat while in their west end home.

A 21-year old male will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 4th of November the accused assaulted his common law wife by hitting her with a baseball bat while in their west end home. The victim reported the incident to the police and she also received medical treatment for her injuries. The accused was arrested just before 6 pm last evening and has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breach of probation.

Breach for Breaking Curfew

A 17-year old youth was arrested just after 1 am this morning and charged with one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and one count of breach of a release order. Officers observed the youth in the area of St. Georges Avenue at 1 am this morning. The accused was on a release document with a curfew of 7 pm to 7 am. He was also on a probation order with a curfew of 10 pm to 10 am. The youth will appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

A 19-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday afternoon on outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on July 11th of this year the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend place of employment and she refused to see him. Later in the day it is alleged that the accused re-attended at her work place and got into the office area. He was confronted by staff and removed before locating the victim. It is alleged that the accused also left notes for the victim and tried to contact her further. It is alleged that on the 2nd of July the accused had 72 morphine pills in his possession. It is also alleged that on July 15th the accused took a guitar and two sanders from a residence he had been staying at and pawned them. The accused has been charged with two counts of theft, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of criminal harassment.

Two Youths Charged with Break & Enter

A 16-year old youth and a 17 year old youth were both arrested last evening around 6 pm in relation to a break and enter. It is alleged that the males broke into a home on Grace Street last evening and left without taking anything however they did damage a door. The youths were arrested shortly after the incident occurred. The 16-year old male has been charged with one count of break and enter with intent to commit an offence and one count of mischief under $5,000. The 17-year old male has been charged with one count of break and enter with intent to commit an offence, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both males will appear in court on December 19th.

Charged with Public Mischief

51-year old Stephen Fitzherbert of 407-137 East Street was arrested and charged yesterday with one count of public mischief. It is alleged that the accused contacted the City Police on the 14th of November and report the theft of prescription drugs from his residence. One of the drugs allegedly taken was oxycontin. Through their investigation officers determined that the drugs had not been taken but that the accused had used them up. The accused will appear in court on December 11th.

Two Males Charged for Liquor Offences, Breach, and Assault of Police Officer

Yesterday morning just after 9 am City Police attended in the downtown area of Albert Street West and Alexandra after receiving reports of two males being intoxicated and causing problems in the area. Officers attended and arrested a 17-year old male and charged him with a liquor related offence. He was also charged with three counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act for failing to keep the peace and be good. The youth will appear in court on the 19th of December. 18-year old Daniel Lepage of 211 Gloucester Street allegedly refused to identify himself and became confrontational with officers. The accused was arrested for a liquor related offence and taken to the police station. It is alleged that while at the police station the accused threw a jacket at one of the officers. It is further alleged that the accused was attempting to flood the cell area and when officers attended in the cell to determine what had occurred the accused struck one of the officers in the chest. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. The accused has been charged with one count of assault police and two counts of breach of probation. He will appear court on January 8th, 2007.

Arson of a Vehicle

Officers from Investigation Services are currently investigating an arson that occurred between 7 pm and 7 am on the 13th and 14th of November. A storage truck belonging to Palmer Paving had been set on fire. The fire was contained to the front seat area. The vehicle was in the 400 block of Franklin Street. Inspectors from Fire Services were also notified and attended. The investigation is ongoing and few details are being released at this time. There were a number of break and enters reported in the last 24-hour period:

1) Flower Fashion on Wellington Street West was broken into just after 6 am yesterday morning. A small quantity of cash was taken.

2) Yesterday morning City Police attended at the office of Ken Davies on Wellington Street East for a break and enter. A numbers of items were taken including computers.

3) Sometime between midnight and 8 am yesterday morning thieves broke into a garage on Arizona Avenue and stole a DVD player.

4) A second garage on Arizona was reported broken into between midnight and 8 am yesterday morning. Nothing was taken in this incident.

5) A home on Andrew Street was broken in yesterday between 11 am and 10 pm. Thieves stole a Kodak camera, a DVD player and a digital camera.
