Motor Vehicle and Pedestrian Collision
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended at a motor vehicle and pedestrian collision on Tuesday the 3rd of May at 2 pm at the intersection of Brock and Queen Street East that sent a female adult pedestrian to hospital by ambulance for medical treatment. It is alleged that the pedestrian was walking westbound crossing Brock Street with the cross walk signal activated, when she was struck by a GMC pick up that was turning left from Queen Street onto Brock Street. The injuries to the pedestrian are believed to be non-life threatening. The driver, Jackson Montgomery-Devoni, age 24 years, of 114 Lake Street was charged with one count of fail to yield to pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32 year-old Patrick Baxter of no fixed address at 11:20 am on the 3rd of May and charged him with one count of fail to appear for prints, one count of fail to appear court in relation to a shoplifting theft related charge.

Domestic Related Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20 year-old male at 3:50 am this morning and charged him with one count of break, enter and commit, one count of trespassing at night, one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 4th of May at approximately 12:55 am the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend, entered her bedroom through the window and then assaulted her.

The accused fled prior to police arrival but was located at his residence a few hours later. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Impaired Driver Arrested after Single Motor Vehicle Collision with Injuries
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30 year-old Christopher Beauchamp of #305-115 Cambridge Place at 1:52 am this morning on McNabb Street and charged him with two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm and two counts of operate motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol -causing bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 4th of May around 1:46 am police received a call regarding a possible impaired driver operating a Dodge Caravan eastbound on McNabb Street. Officers attended in that area and found that the vehicle had struck the concrete barriers in the 900 block of McNabb Street.

Officers approached the severely damaged vehicle and found the driver, the accused, to be under the influence of alcohol. There were three passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the collision that received non-life threatening injuries. Two of them had to receive medical treatment at the hospital. The accused is to appear in court on the 6th of June.

Female Shoplifter Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21 year-old Kaitlynne-Marie Cruickshank of 23 Campbell Avenue on the 3rd of May at 7:45 pm at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that she attended at the store and stole some nail polish and make up. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to attend in court on the 6th of June.

Break and Enter Report
The vacant school in the 300 block of East Balfour was entered overnight. The alarm was activated around 9:24 pm. Officers found the school was entered but it is unknown if anything was taken.

Theft Reports
• A saw mill motor was stolen form a business property in the 1600 block of Trunk Road.
• A rear licence plate was stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of Wellington Street West.
• A black 12 speed Raleigh bicycle was stolen from the 100 block of Pim Street.
• An attempt theft of scrap metal was reported to a property on Maki Road
• A vehicle in the 2000 block of Base Line was entered. An Insignia DVD player screen and attachments were reported stolen.
• A window of a vehicle was smashed while in the parking lot of a hotel on Great Northern Avenue. A purse that was left inside was taken out, gone through and items were stolen, including cash and medication.
