A 19-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday morning. It is alleged that on May 2nd the accused contacted his ex-girlfriend by calling her residence while on conditions not to communicate with her. The male had been released from bail court on Monday May 2nd on those conditions. The accused has been charged with one count of breach of a release document.

Two Counts of Assault

A 46-year old male will also be in bail court this morning on domestic related charges. It is alleged that last evening the accused assaulted his common law girlfriend by grabbing her by the arms and pushing her against the wall. When a male family member attempted to intervene, it is alleged that the accused assaulted the male by grabbing his hair and throwing him to the ground. The incident occurred in a downtown residence. The accused has been charged with 2 counts of assault.

Theft Charges Laid

A 41-year old male will also appear in bail court after City Police completed their investigation into a domestic assault call from April 29th. It is alleged that on April 29th the accused assaulted his girlfriend by punching her in the face as well as throwing a drink and a beer bottle at her. The accused also threatened to burn down the victim’s home as well as the home of one of her friends. Before leaving the victim’s downtown residence it is alleged that the accused took a small amount of money from the victim. The victim did not require medical treatment. The accused has been charged with one count of assault, 2 counts of threatening to damage property and one count of theft under $5.000.

Youth Charged with Resisting Arrest

2 youths were arrested this morning around 1:30 am after City Police received a call of youths causing a disturbance at the Mac’s Mart store at 312 Wellington Street East. A 17-year old youth was found to be on probation with a curfew of 10 pm as well as not to consume alcohol. The youth displayed signs of having been drinking. This youth was arrested and charged with 2 counts of breach of probation and will appear in bail court this morning. A 15-year old youth was also arrested after they attempt to prevent the officers from arresting the 17 year old as well as resisting arrest themselves when they were taken into custody for obstructing the officers. The 15-year old youth has been charged with one count of resist arrest and one count of obstruct police and will appear in court on June 7th.

Youth Charged with Theft

Yesterday morning City Police arrested a 16-year old youth and charged them with one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that yesterday morning the youth picked up a rock and smashed a window out of a pickup truck in the King Street parking lot. The youth then grabbed some change that was in the vehicle and fled the area. The accused will appear in court on June 7th.

Break and Enter

Yesterday City Police received one report of a break and enter. Thieves broke into a garage in the 100 block of Spruce Street and took some tools. They also attempted to enter the home without any success.
