MAN ARRESTED FOR HARASSMENT On May 6th, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was advised that a 40-year-old female was being harassed by her estranged husband.
MAN ARRESTED FOR HARASSMENT
On May 6th, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was advised that a 40-year-old female was being harassed by her estranged husband.

An investigation was commenced and Police Officers learned that between August 1, 2002 and May 12th, 2003 the accused, a 47-year-old male did criminally harass the victim, his former spouse, by repeatedly and continually calling her at her residence and on her cell phone. On May 13th at 4:18 pm, detectives arrested and charged the male with Criminal Harassment. He will appear in bail court today.


BREAK & ENTER SOLVED
On May 6th, the accused, Josh Vuotilainen, age 20 of 160 Line West allegedly broke into a residence on Manilla Terrace and stole a Playstation2 and 6 games with 2 controllers valued at about $700 and a DVD player valued at $250. Further, on May 6th, the accused allegedly had in his possession this property obtained by crime.

Police officers who were investigating the break and enter believed that the accused was responsible for the theft. Officers also learned that the accused breached his recognizance peace bond by failing to keep the peace and be good.

Yesterday at 7:55 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged the accused with Break and Enter, Possession of Stolen Property, and Breach of Recognizance. He will appear in court on June 16th. Officers recovered the Playstation and games.


MAN ACCUSED OF STEALING FOOD
Yesterday between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, the accused Michael Robert Leblanc, age 32 of 129 Salisbury Avenue allegedly committed 3 counts of theft from the Wellington Square Mall by stealing a loaf of bread at one incident from Food Basics, the a second theft by entering Food Basics again with no money and drinking a milk while in the store and the third count of theft occurred at the IDA were the accused was allegedly caught by an employee of IDA stealing a juice and attempting to leave the store. At 8:40 pm, patrol officers arrested and charged the male with three counts of Theft under $5,000.00. He will appear in bail court today.


YOUTH ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT WITH WEAPON
On May 12th at 9:00 pm on St. George?s Avenue, the accused, a 13-year-old male, assaulted a 15-year-old male victim with a weapon (a ball filled with gravel). The accused also threw a ball at the victim hitting him on the right side of the face. The victim was not seriously injured in the assault.

Yesterday 11:14 pm, patrol officers located and arrested the accused for Assault with a Weapon. Police officers also executed an outstanding arrest warrant for Possession Of Stolen Property from an incident in early March 2003, where the 13 year old was in possession of a stolen video camera. The youth will appear in bail court today.


BOY ASSAULTS GIRL
Early today at the Pee Wee Arena on Northern Avenue, at approximately 1:00 am, a 16-year-old male from Brantford assaulted a young female by punching her in the face and biting her in the left shoulder and right middle finger.

The accused, who knew the victim, covered her mouth so that she could not scream during the assault. The victim received minor injuries. The youth then ran from the Pee Wee Arena to the A&P Store across the street where several other males from the arena area followed him. Police officers were called to the scene and arrested and charged the accused with assault. He will appear in bail court today.


BREAK & ENTER
The Police Service investigated one break in yesterday. At 10:00 am, police were advised that a break and enter had occurred to the sports equipment shed at St. Basil's School on St. George's Avenue.
