POLICE OFFICER SUSPENDED On May 2, 2002, Constable Douglas O. Witty was suspended from active duty without pay as a result of a sexual assault conviction. He faces additional charges under the Criminal Code and The Police Services Act.

DRUG BUST
On Monday, Apr 29, members of the joints forces drug squad executed a search warrant at a residence on White Oak Drive that resulted in the arrest of Louie Caruso, age 44, of White Oak Drive. He has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking. Cocaine and prescription drugs were seized. Caruso will appear in court on June 3.

ACCIDENT SENDS 2 TO HOSPITAL
An accident at the intersection of Connaught and Third Avenue yesterday at 5:38 p.m. severely damaged both vehicles and sent 2 people to hospital. A 1999 Hyundai, operated by Rene Vanderlift, age 44, of Second Avenue, was eastbound on Connaught when it collided with a 1991 Chevrolet pick-up driven by Gerard Carroll, age 44, of Goulais River.

The Carroll vehicle was northbound on Thir
