Missing Boy Located At 3:15 pm this afternoon a family member notified the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service that missing person Billie Elie had returned home after spending the evening at the residence of an acquaintance.

At 3:15 pm this afternoon a family member notified the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service that missing person Billie Elie had returned home after spending the evening at the residence of an acquaintance. He was found to be in good condition and health.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this investigation.

Mischeif And Theft

City Police are investigating six reports of mischief / theft that took place at 99 Foster Dr. (Civic Centre) last night. Between 10:00 PM last night and 3:00 AM this morning six complaints were received that cars had windows smashed and were entered.

City Police are also investigating two more reports of mischief in the downtown area. Vehicles were reported damaged in the 200 block of Bay St. and the 200 block of St. Mary’s River Dr.

Anyone having information or seeing any suspicious in the area s is asked to contact the City Police Investigative Services.

Vehicle Stolen

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of St. George’s Ave. Stolen was a 1988 Chev van blue in colour licence # 7503AR.
Anyone seeing or having any information on this vehicle is asked to contact the City Police.

Two Break And Enters

There were two break and enters reported in the past 24 hours. One occurred at St. Basil’s School at 250 St. George’s Ave. E. It is not believed that the culprits obtained anything.

The second entry took place yesterday afternoon at approx. 1:00 PM. At that time City Police were called to attend at a west end residence in regards to a Break and Enter. Investigation led police to another residence where they located a suspect. Charged with Break and Enter and two counts of Breach of Probation is a 17 year old youth. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Assault At The Algoma Treatment And Remand Centre

Yesterday at approx. 12:00 noon City Police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre to investigate an assault complaint. It is alleged that 39-year-old Gordon Leonard assault another inmate at the jail. The victim was repeatedly punched and knocked down by the accused. Victim lost a tooth and suffered a scrape to his face as a result of the assault. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
