Two Males Arrested - Weapons and Drug Charges - Possible Link to Sudbury Bank Robbery

Resulting from a routine vehicle stop by members of the Emergency Services Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, initiated in the area of 724 Great Northern Road on Tuesday the 31st of May 2005 at 2:35 p.m., two male persons have been taken into custody.

From this stop and subsequent investigation evidence was uncovered that has led police to believe that there may be a connection between the vehicle and occupants and a bank robbery that had occurred earlier in the day in Sudbury. Names of the two male persons arrested in this incident are being withheld at this time pending verification of their identity. Both males are described as being in their mid thirties and are not believed to be from Northern Ontario.

At this time weapons and drug charges will be levied against these two persons. Charge(s) are pending relative to the robbery awaiting the arrival and involvement of the Greater Sudbury Police Service. Both males are scheduled to appear in Bail Court, here in Sault Ste.
