Female arrested for fraud: Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 61year-old female for fraud.
Female arrested for fraud:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 61year-old female for fraud. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Sears Store, in the Station Mall, and switched prices on clothing items. Accused was apprehended outside the store by security and turned over to police. Elvira Bloye, age 61, of 696 Farwell Terr. is charged with one count of fraud and is to appear in court on Aug 29th at 9:00 am.

Female arrested for theft:

Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30-year-old female for theft. It is alleged that the accused stole a camera from the Wal-Mart Store, on Great Northern Rd. Accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to police. Paula Kehoe, age 30 of 282 Cathcart St is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000 and is to appear in court on Aug 29th at 9:00am.

Male arrested on a warrant:

Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 20-year-old male on a warrant for assault and breach of probation. It is alleged that on October 10th 2010 the accused assault a city bus driver. It is further alleged that the accused was on a probation order release at the time of this offence. Paul Quesnel, age 20, of 728 Wellington St. W. is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.
Mr. Quesnel is to appear in court on Aug 29th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for possession of stolen property:

Last night members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old for possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that the accused was in possession of a camera that had been reported stolen. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release. Trevor Seaton, age 25, of 364 Albert St. W is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. Mr. Seaton is to appear in court on Aug 29th at 9:00 am.

Male to appear in bail court:

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 43-year-old male for assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law-girlfriend. It is further alleged that the accused attempted to assault the victim with a wall mirror. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention. The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon (the mirror).

Property crimes:

Break and enter:

The Sault Ste Marie Police service investigated break and enters at the following locations:
A business in the 900 block of Carpin Beach Rd was entered and a cash box was stolen.
A shed in the 1100 block of Trunk Rd. Gas cans were stolen.
Storage containers in the 500 block of Goulais Ave – it is not known at this time what was stolen.
A residence in the 100 block of Estelle St. was entered – electronics were stolen.

Mischief:

Vehicles were damaged in the 200 block of Queen St. W. and the 100 block of Bay St.

Theft:

Vehicles were entered in the following locations:
The 100 block of East St. a passport was taken from one vehicle and medication was stolen from a second vehicle.
The 300 block of Lake St. a passport was stolen.
The 100 block of Great Northern Rd. – a wallet and cigarettes were stolen.
Gas cans were stolen from a shed in the 100 block of Nino Dr.
A rain barrel was stolen from a residence in then 100 block of Fish Hatchery Rd.
A purse was stolen from an office in the 200 block of McNabb St.
