VEHICLE BREAK INS. City police arrested three persons yesterday morning just before 6 a.m. relating to a rash of thefts from vehicles in the Ontario to Forest Ave. area in the city.

City police arrested three persons yesterday morning just before 6 a.m. relating to a rash of thefts from vehicles in the Ontario to Forest Ave. area in the city.

Police received information from a witness that there were three males entering vehicles in the Findlay Avenue area and they had stolen money and other various items.

Along with the assistance of Eagle, (Police K-9), one of the suspects was tracked to a garage and located hiding underneath a boat in the Wellington St. East. area.

The other two suspects were then tracked, and located hiding in the bush area of the Armories and upon hearing the K-9 Eagle, they fled the area and were arrested at the lower end of Pine Street as they exited the bush.

Kevin Bennett, age 22 of 159 Chartwell, has been charged with possession of stolen property, theft under $5000.00, unlawfully being in a dwelling house and breach of probation.

Also charged are two young offenders age 16 and 17. Both have been charged with possession of stolen property and all three are to appear in bail court.


ASSAULT CHARGE
A 21-year-old and an 18-year-old have been charged with assault causing bodily harm. The accused, Natasha Denise Dool of 91 Spruce Street and Shauna Good Fellow of 41 Old Garden River Road, allegedly held down and punched the victim several times in the head and face.

The victim, whose eye had swollen shut, required stitches and further medical attention. Both are to appear in court in late August.


HOUSE BREAK IN
A young offender and Loren Beaird, age 21 of 765 Cooper Street have been charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house. They allegedly entered a house in the 700 block of Cooper Street through the basement window. Information received from a witness enabled the two to be arrested a short distance away.


MORE BREAK & ENTER
Police responded to a break and enter in the Danby Road area yesterday. A garage had been entered and a large amount of musical equipment stolen.

After the police investigation, several items were located in a grassy area not far from the residence. Police were able to locate and return speakers,amplifiers and music mixer boards to the victim.
