Bail Court City police arrested a 15-year-old male yesterday evening and charged him with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of an undertaking.

City police arrested a 15-year-old male yesterday evening and charged him with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of an undertaking. It is alleged that on Monday July 14th the youth, who was on an undertaking release order breached a condition of that order by failing to return home for his 10:00 pm curfew. Upon returning home at 9:50 pm on July 15th police were called and he was arrested. At the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Shoplifter Arrested

Yesterday evening city police were called to Rome’s Independent Grocers regarding a female shoplifter. It is alleged that the accused enter the grocery store at approx 6:15 pm, selected a quantity of grocery items and then left the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. Charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00 is Janice Myers, age 41 of 169 Caledon St. She will be appearing in court on Aug 25th at 90:00 am.

Female Arrested on Warrant

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:00 pm Krystal Hart, age 23, of 23 Grosvenor Ave attended at the city police station to turn herself in on two outstanding warrants. It is alleged that on April 12th the accused failed to appear in court. It is further alleged that on June 16th the accused failed to attend at the city police station for fingerprints. As a result the accused is charged with one count of fail to appear for court and one count of fail to appear for identification. She will be appearing in court on Aug 25th at 9:00 am.

Break and Enter

A bicycle valued at over $ 800.00 was stolen from a break and enter at a residence in the 900 block of Old Garden River Rd.

Mischief

A residence in the 600 block of Bush St. had the front door damaged.
A planter was damaged at a residence I the 100 block of Lorna Dr.

Theft

A vehicle parked in the 500 block of Allen’s Side Rd was entered and stereo equipment was stolen.

Driving Seminar for Seniors

This afternoon at 1:00 pm city police and C.A.R.P. (Canada’s Association for the 50 plus) will be holding a driving refresher lecture at the Senior’s Drop-In Centre, located at 615 Bay St. Anyone with driving or traffic concerns is invited to attend. The lecture is free of charge -all seniors are invited. A question and answer period will follow the lecture and video.
