Three persons to appear in bail court Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for breach of probation.
Three persons to appear in bail court
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused contacted his ex-common-law wife, by telephone on two different occasions and harassed her. At the time of these occurrences the accused was on a probation order release to not communicate or harass his ex-wife. The accused is charged with four counts of breach of probation.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 31-year-old male on a warrant for assault. It is alleged that the on July 12th the accused person assaulted his ex-common-law wife by punching and elbowing her in the chest area. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused was located early this morning and arrested for one count of assault.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 31-year-old male for assault, mischief, threatening death and choking. It is alleged that on July 10th the accused and his ex-common-law wife were involved in an argument when the accused assaulted the victim by pushing and throwing her onto a bed. It is further alleged that the accused damaged the victim’s cell phone when she attempted to call police. The accused is further alleged to have choked the victim and threatened to kill her. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of threatening death and one count of overcoming resistance to commission of an offence (choking). The victim did not require medical attention.

Female arrested for impaired driving
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 56-year-old female for impaired driving. It is alleged that the accused was operating her vehicle on Second Line E. near Black Rd. in an erratic manner. He driving caught the attention of several citizens, who contacted the police. Police arrived a short time later and arrested the accused for impaired driving. Susan Traveson, age 56 of 514 MacDonald Ave is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs. Ms Traveson is to appear in court on Aug 15th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for theft
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that the accused male entered the Sears Store, in the Station Mall, and stole a pair of running shoes. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to the city police. Robert Wilson, age 49, of 142 Albert St. E. is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. Mr. Wilson is to appear in court on Aug.22nd at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for fraud, theft and possession of property obtained by crime
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 41-year-old male for fraud, theft and possession of stolen property. It is alleged that on June 15th 2011 the accused person was given $1,800 to repair a vehicle. The accused failed to do so. It is further alleged that upon taking the vehicle from the victim the accused was using the vehicle for his own personal use. It is further alleged that on July 12th the accused was in possession of the victim’s vehicle. Stephen James Givens, age 41, of 25 Marty Blvd, Heyden, is charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of fraud. Mr. Givens is to appear in court on Aug 22nd at 9:00 am.

Break and enter
A garage in the 400 block of Connaught Ave was entered - it is unknown at this time what was taken.

Mischief
Three vehicles were damaged in the following locations:
The 100 block of Oakland Ave, the 100 block of Pim St. and the 200 block of Brown St.

Damage was reported to St. Paul School at 78 Dablon St.

Extensive damage was reported at the site of the new Francis H. Clergue School located at 80 Weldon Ave

Theft
Twenty sheets of plywood were stolen from the construction site at the Root River Bridge and Highway 17 North.

An electric lawn mower was stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Wellington St. W.

Electronics were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Herrick St.

Bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of Ferguson Ave and the 100 block of McQueen Rd.
