Break ins:
A break and enter was reported in to a business in the 400 block of Queen St. E. No information was received if anything was stolen.
A break and enter was reported from overnight on Megginson Drive. A garage and residence was entered. A gas can was taken.
House Fire on Patrick Street
Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently on scene at a house fire in the 300 block of Patrick Street. Officers responded to the call around 1:55 this morning and remain on scene with members of Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services. At this point the origin of the fire is unknown and is still being investigated; however no injuries have been reported. Patrick Street remains closed to traffic and we ask members of the public to avoid this area while the investigation continues.
Arrests/Charged Persons:
On January 08, 2013, Tammy Jean Coccimiglio 44 years of 657 Queen Street East, apt#2 was observed taking a Roots tee shirt and leaving Sears without paying for it. Coccimiglio was arrested by security for theft under $5000 and returned to the store to wait for City Police. She will be attending court on February 11th.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Officers attended a family dispute Tuesday evening where a 44 year old intoxicated male assaulted his 23 year old daughter. During the altercation the accused smashed a telephone and punched a closet door causing damage. The accused is charged with assault and mischief under $5000. The accused will appear in court on February 11, 2012 at 9:00am.

On February 9th, 2013 at approximately 11:00 pm officers attended in the 300 block of Dacey Road regarding an intoxicated female in the parking area. On attending officers located a young female, age 17 that was receiving medical assistance by ambulance personnel. The accused was released to police at which time she was taken to the police station for being intoxicated in a public place. On exiting the police cruiser the accused punched an officer twice in the face and had to be subdued. The accused was charged with assault police and will attend court on February 12, 2013 at 9:30 am.

On January 08, 2013, Dustin Gilbert Scott 21 years of 470 John Street was observed by Walmart security, putting a bottle of perfume up his sleeve and then left the store without paying for it. Scott was arrested in the Station Mall area by security and returned to the store to wait for the City Police. A bottle of Playboy VIP cologne was found and seized. The accused stands charged with theft under $5000. The accused will attend court on February 11, 2013 at 09:00.
Break and Enters/Other Property Crimes:
Theft from a vehicle in the 300 block of Lake Street. A small amount of change was taken.
Theft from a vehicle in the 300 block of Patrick Street. Unknown what was taken.
