Male to appear in bail court
Last night members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for assault police, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that police were called to an east end apartment regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival officers spoke to the accused, who then began fighting with officers. It is alleged that the accused assaulted three officers. It is further alleged that upon arresting the accused officers located a small quantity of marihuana on him. At the time of theses offences the accused was on probation. Jeffrey Gardner, age 27, of 115 Cambridge Pl. Apt # 105 is charged with three count s of assault police, three counts of breach of probation and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
Female arrested for assault
Last night at 6:50 pm members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35-year-old female for assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted her common-law partner by striking him in the head several times with her fist. The accused is charged with one count of assault and is to appear in court on February 1st at 9:30 am. The victim did not require medical assistance.
Male arrested for theft under $5,000
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Wal-mart Store, 446 Great Northern Rd, and stole various items valued at $ 57.45. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to police. Kenneth Watts, age 21, of 140 Charles St. is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000. Mr. Watts is to appear in court on February 13th at 9:00 am.
Male arrested on a warrant
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male on a warrant for breach of probation. Robert McCabe, age 21 of 1552 Old Garden River Rd is charged with one count of breach of probation for an incident that occurred in July 2010. Mr. McCabe is to appear in court on January 30th at 9:00 am.
Male to appear in bail court
Last night at approximately 8:00 pm members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male for assault, mischief, dangerous driving and resist arrest. It is alleged that the accused attended his ex-wife’s residence and assaulted her. It is further alleged that he then got into his vehicle and drove it into a vehicle parked on the street. It is further alleged that when police arrived the accused drove his vehicle into the police car several times and resisted arrest. The victim did not require medical assistance due to the assault. The accused is charged with one count of assault, one count of resist arrest, one count of mischief and one count of dangerous driving.
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested the above male for possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that while being processed, at the city police station, on the above charges the accused was found to be in possession of a gram of cocaine. The accused is further charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. The street value of the drug is $ 100.
Break and enter
A residence in the 100 block of Walnut St. was entered. Money was reported stolen.
An attempted break and enter was reported to an apartment in the 100 block of Chapple Ave.
Robbery
At approximately 3:15 am this morning a lone male entered the Mac’s Mart, 187 Gore St. with an 8” kitchen knife and robbed the clerk of a small amount of money. The suspect is described as:
Male, white, slim build, wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs ball cap, an olive green hoodie, track pants and black leather gloves. The clerk was not injured in this incident.
