Domestic Related Arrest:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27 year-old male on the 24th of January at 4:50 am and charged him with one count of threaten death. It is alleged that on the 24th of January at approximately 3:30 pm the accused called his ex-girlfriend on the phone and made threats to go to her home and kill her. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
Search Warrants Results in Four Persons Arrested with Numerous Drug and Weapon related Offences: All are to appear in bail court this morning.
On the 24th of January at approximately 7:25 am, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team and the Emergency Services Unit executed search warrants at two residences in the 400 block of Wellington Street East. In a search of #3-429 Wellington Street East, officers locating 7 grams of cannabis marijuana, cannabis resin, 13 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, a digital scale, a debt list, bear spray and a large amount of cash. During a search of #3-427 Wellington Street East, officers located 35 grams of cannabis marijuana, 42 grams of cocaine, a small amount of methadone, packaging materials, a digital scale, a large amount of cash, bear spray and a prohibited knife.
As result the two residents of #3-429 Wellington Street East, 23 year-old Kevin Robinson and 23 year-old Sheena Matchett were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. Further, Kevin Robinson was found to be on a probation order with conditions to keep the peace, be good, on was on a court order not to possess any prohibited weapons. As a result, he was further charged with breaching release and his probation orders.
The two residents of #3-427 Wellington Street East, 23 year-old Timothy Robinson and 25 year-old Carrie Smith were charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon. Carrie Smith was also on a court order not to possess any prohibited weapons and was further charged with one count of possession of a weapon contrary to an order.
Male Arrested and Charged with Voyeurism:
Investigation Services officers arrested 48 year-old Emmanuel De Melo of 7 Elmwood Avenue on the 24th of January at 11:10 am at the police station and charged him with one count of voyeurism. It is alleged that between the 1st to the 12th of January 2012, the accused used video cameras to record a number of persons that used his bathroom area while they were at gatherings at his residence. The victims were unaware that the recordings were occurring. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
Male Arrested for Assault:
Offices with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35 year-old Travis Barill of 229 Selby Road at 12:15 am on the 25th of January at his residence and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 21st of January the accused assaulted a female known to him while at her residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. The accused is to appear in court on the 27th of February.
Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 42 year-old John Decaire of #405-615 Albert Street West on the 24th of January at 4:30 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of fail to appear court for allegedly failing to appear for both on the dates required to. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Male Charged with Disqualified Driving:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Dean Daigle of 394 Connaught Avenue at 9 pm last night and charged him with one count of operate motor vehicle while disqualified. It is alleged that on the 24th of January at approximately 8:44 pm he was operating a snow machine on Base Line and at the time he was disqualified from driving due to an impaired driving charge. He is to appear in court on the 5th of March.
Break and Enter Reports:
- A residence on Gore Street was entered on yesterday. A flat screen television and some jewellery were reported stolen.
- A residence on Patrick Street was entered on the 24th of January. Jewellery was reported taken.
- Attempted break and enters were reported to residences on Goulais Avenue and John Street.
