Female Charged with Assault

20 year-old Teija Aspegren of #3-819 Queen Street East was arrested on the 22nd of January at 5 pm at her residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 1st of January at approximately 12:30 am the accused was at a party in an apartment at 819 Queen Street East and assaulted a 21 year-old female guest by throwing a drink at her, throwing her to the floor and punching her several times in the head. The victim received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of March.

Outstanding Warrants, Assault & Breach

A 17 year-old female youth was arrested on the 22nd of January at the court house on outstanding warrants and charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. It is alleged that on the 30th of September the accused was at a party at a west end residence and she assaulted a 15 year-old female known to her by pushing her to the floor and punching her several times in the face and head area and kicking her in the stomach numerous times. The victim was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 26th of February.

Charged for Assaulting his Father

A 34 year-old male was arrested at a west end residence on the 23rdof January at 2:30 am and charged with one count of assault and one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 22nd of January around 10:40 pm the accused was at the residence of his parents when he got into a verbal argument with them and assaulted his 67 year-old father by punching him several times in the chest and head area. It is further alleged that the accused also damaged a bedroom door by knocking it down. The victim received injuries that did not require medical attention. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of March.

Two Counts of Assault

A 45 year-old male was arrested on the 22nd of January at 4:45 pm at his residence and charged with two counts of assault. It alleged that sometime between April and May of 2007 the accused got into a verbal argument with his wife and assaulted her by grabbing her by the hair and pulling her over a couch. It is further alleged that on the 19th of January 2008 the accused pushed his wife into a wall and grabbed her around the neck and pushed her onto the floor. The accused is to appear in court on the 5th of March.

Break & Enter

The only break and enter that was reported yesterday was to an apartment on Albert Street West that occurred between 10:30 and 11:45 am on the 22nd of January. A knife was reported stolen.
