Theft
A car window was smashed on Simpson Street and an IPod was taken.
Break In
A break and enter was reported on Rossmore Road between 1 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, 02 Jan 2013. A side door was kicked in and the house is described as ransacked. Jewelry, a laptop, cash and a camera were amongst the things discovered missing.
Fatal House Fire on Base Line
Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently on scene at a fatal house fire in the 2700 block of Base Line. Police received the call just after 6 a.m. today, and one victim was later found deceased inside the residence. Officers remain on scene assisting the Prince Township Fire Service. An official from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to assist.
Arrests:
21 year old Dieter Prairie Chicken of no fixed address will appear in bail court this morning. Last evening he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for fail to appear for fingerprints.

34 year old Marlene St. Germain of 361 Second Avenue will appear in bail court this morning. She was arrested last evening on an outstanding warrant for being unlawfully at large and two counts of breach of probation.

Last evening City Police were called regarding a suspicious male on Charles Street. Officers located 26 year old Jeremy Trumble of 33A Albion Avenue. Mr. Trumble was out on bail with conditions not to consume alcohol and he was intoxicated. He has been charged with one count of breach of a recognizance and will also appear in bail court this morning.

31 year old Steven Dumont of 304-41 Old Garden River Road was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that earlier in the day the accused assaulted a male known to him. At the time of the offence he was on three probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He will appear in bail court this morning.
Property Related:
A snow blower was reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Sussex Road.
There was an attempt break and enter into home in the 100 block of Murton Avenue.
