A 24-year-old male will be appearing in bail court this morning as a result of a domestic incident. It is alleged that at approx. 2:00 am January 1st 2008 the accused assaulted her common-law girlfriend by shoving her causing her to fall and strike her chin. Police attended and charged the accused with one count of assault. The victim did not require medical attention.

Possession

Yesterday afternoon at approx. 3:40 pm city police arrested Jonathan Beamish, age 36, of 167 Andrew St. Apt. # 2 and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on Jan. 1st at approx. 2:30 am the accused stole a GMC pick-up truck from another resident of 167 Andrew St. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner. The accused will be appearing in court on Feb 11th.

Assault

Yesterday morning at approx. 11:20 am city police arrested a 51-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on Jan 1st at approx. 3:00 am the accused was at the residence of a female known to him and while there he assaulted her by striking her with his fist and forearm. The victim did not require any medical attention for any injuries. The accused will be appearing in court on Feb 6th 2008.

Impaired Driving

1) On Jan 1st at approx. 1:10 am city police attended on Reid St. regarding a vehicle in a snow bank. Upon arrival officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and determined that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result Dylan D’ettorre, age 20 of 1020 Wellington St. E. was arrested and charged with one count of impaired driving and drive over 80mgs. He will be appearing in court on Feb 11th.

2) At approx. 4:40 am Jan. 1st city police attended at the Canada Customs Bridge Plaza regarding a Customs officer having stopped an impaired driver. It is alleged that Travis Parsons, age 26, of 45 Kilarney St. was operating his vehicle on the International Bridge while impaired. Mr. Parsons was arrested and charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs he will be appearing in court on Feb 11th.

Intoxicated Male

1) At approx. 2:35 am Jan 1st 2008 city police attended at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar regarding an intoxicated male. Upon arrival officers located 52-year-old Bradley Holmes, of no fixed abode, in an intoxicated condition. Mr. Holmes is on an undertaking release with conditions not to consume alcohol. He is charged with one count of breach of an undertaking and will be appearing ion court on Feb 11th.

2) On Jan 1st at approx .3:40 am city police attended at an address on Placid Ave regarding a dispute. Upon speaking to one of the involved persons the officers noticed that he had been drinking. At this time Drew Armstrong, age 22, of 570 Cooper St. was arrested and charged with one count of breach of an undertaking.
Mr. Armstrong’s release order prohibited him from consuming alcohol. He will be appearing in court on Feb 11th.

City police received three reports of break and enter in the past 48 hours.

1) A residence in the 100 block of Albert St. E. was broken into. Jewellery and personal papers were stolen.

2)A residence in the 700 block of Wellington St. W. was entered. Jewellery and a wallet were stolen.

3)Biff’s Buff and Shine located at 285 Conmee Ave was broken into. Culprits drove a vehicle through the front doors of the building. It is not known what was taken at this time.

Four mischief complaints were investigated by city police.

1) Two vehicles were damaged over the New Year - a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of peoples Rd. had several windows broken. A second vehicle parked in the 100 block of St. George’s Ave E. was also damaged.

2) City police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a male person responsible for breaking a window at a residence in the 700 block of Wellington St. E. on Jan. 1st at approx. 6: 30 am. The suspect is described as: Male, white, tall, skinny 16- 25-years 0f age. Suspect was last seen wearing a green hoody and only one white running shoe - lost one at the scene of the crime.

3) A second residence in the 700 block of Wellington St.E was victim to mischief as culprit(s) damaged a door.
