Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Investigation Services detectives with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located and arrested 20 year-old Michael Leclair of no fixed address at 11:25 am on Macdonald Avenue and charged him with one count of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of aggravated assault and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for an incident that took place overnight on the 2nd - 3rd of December 2010 when he and co-accused, 35-year-old Heidi Debassige, attacked a female known to them while they were at a downtown residence.

The accused held a knife to the victim’s throat and demanded money from her. When the victim advised she didn’t have any money and attempted to leave she was threatened and severely beaten by the accused persons. The victim was hospitalized with serious non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning. The co-accused Heidi Debassige of #7-7 Queen Street East was arrested on the 13th of December with regards to this incident and charged with one count of aggravated assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. Her court date is the 20th of January.

Domestic Related Arrest
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 61 year-old male on the 18thof January at 8:45 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of resist arrest and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 18th of January at 8:40 pm officers received a call to the accused male’s residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers learned that the accused threatened to kill his common-law spouse and at the time he was on probation with conditions that he not harass, molest or physically interfere with the victim and he was to keep the peace and be good. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers arrested a 17 year-old female youth at 3 am this morning at a downtown residence on an outstanding warrant. She was charged with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of fail to attend court. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

Break and Enter Reports
• A residence in the 300 block of North Street was entered yesterday. A laptop, a coin collection, a camera and some clothing was reported taken.
• An apartment in the 200 block of Albert Street East was entered yesterday afternoon. Liquor, an iPod Touch and iPod docking station were reported taken.
• An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence on Labelle Avenue.

Theft Reports
• A television and overhead projector was reported stolen from a business on West Street.
• An attempt theft was reported to a vehicle on Wallace Terrace.
