Male Youth Arrested for Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property: Officers with the Sault Ste.

Male Youth Arrested for Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 14 year-old youth last night at a local youth home and charged him with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.  It is alleged that on the 13th of February the accused broke into two offices at the local youth residence and stole some items.  He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Drug Possession and Public Intoxication:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 44 year-old Leslie Nagy of #216-352 Dacey Road yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of intoxicated in a common area. It is alleged that on the 14th of February at approximately 1:32 pm officers received a complaint of an intoxicated male to be removed from the hallway at a Dacey Road apartment complex. 

Upon arrival police found the accused in an intoxicated state and was uncooperative with officers.  As a result, the accused was arrested for intoxicated in a common area and at the time he was found to be in possession of small bag of cannabis marijuana.  The accused is to appear in court on the 19th of March.

Update to Pim Street Residence Robbery

Investigation Results in Two Accused Females Facing Additional Charges in Relation to Robbery:  

Earlier Release:

Investigation Services officers have charged three males in relation to the robbery and two females for obstructing their investigation.  It is alleged that the accused males forced their way into the residence with their faces covered and were armed with a hammer and knife.  Two males that were inside the residence at the time were forcibly confined, robbed of some cash and assaulted. The victims received non-life threatening injuries as a result.  Two females that allegedly obstructed police with their investigation at the scene were also charged.  All five are attending in bail court on Tuesday morning.   The investigation is ongoing. 

1) Shaun Mearow, age 30, of 2643 Mission Road Goulais River has been charged with one count of forcible entry, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of forcible confinement, one count of robbery with a weapon, one count of disguise with intent and one count of breach of probation. 

2)  Blake Hudson, age 29, of #3-28 Hughes Street has been charged with one count of forcible entry, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of forcible confinement, one count of robbery with a weapon, one count of disguise with intent and one count of breach of probation.

 3) Michael Leclair, age 21, of no fixed address has been charged with one count of forcible entry, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of forcible confinement, one count of robbery with a weapon and one count of disguise with intent.

4)  Kimberley Robinson, age 19 of #3-167 Pim Street was charged with one count of obstruct police.

5) Sophia Mallia, age 22 of #3-167 Pim Street was charged with one count of obstruct police. 

Update:

As a result of further investigation, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigation Unit has charged the accused females, originally charged with obstruct police, with additional charges in connection to the robbery.  Kimberley Robinson, age 19 and Sophia Mallia, age 22, both, of #2-667 Queen Street East, now face charges of robbery in connection to the incident and breach of release documents for not notifying the police of their change in address. They were both arrested at their residence yesterday afternoon and are to appear in court on the 5th of March.

Break and Enter/Theft Reports:

  • A business on Elgin Street was broken into last night.  Cash, a Toshiba laptop and carrying case were reported stolen.
  • A business in the 300 block of Wellington Street West was broken into last night.  It is not known at this time what was taken.
  • A residence in the 400 block of Fourth Line East was broken into last night.  Nothing was reported stolen. It appears the suspect was scarred off when the resident returned home. 
  • A table saw was reported stolen from a residence backyard on Second Line West.
  • An attempt theft of a vehicle was reported on Great Northern Road.
