Theft and Weapon Related Charges A 16 year-old female youth was arrested on the 9th of February at 1:30 pm at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

A 16 year-old female youth was arrested on the 9th of February at 1:30 pm at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of resist peace officer, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon the accused attended at the store and stole some items. A security officer from the store attempted to apprehend her outside in the parking lot and the accused swung at the officer, continuously resisted and attempted to pull a knife out of her pocket. The officer was able to gain control of her and police were called. At the time of the incident she was on a recognizance order with conditions not to be in possession of any weapons. She is to attend in bail court this morning.

Male Charged with Theft

29 year-old Terrance Piche of 357 Morin Street was charged yesterday afternoon around 3:10 pm at his residence with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 1st of February the accused attended at an apartment that he previously resided at to remove his belongings and he stole a fridge that belonged to the landlord. He is to appear in court on the 29th of March.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

46 year-old Paula Desrouchers of Room #305-844 Queen Street East was arrested yesterday afternoon at the city police station on an outstanding warrant for allegedly failing to appear court on the 8th of February on a theft related charge. She has been charge with one count of fail to appear court with the next court date appearance to be on the 15th of March.

Theft from Vehicles

• A window of a vehicle on Kohler Street was smashed and some change was reported stolen.
• A vehicle on Brule Road was entered and purse and cash were reported stolen.
• A vehicle in the parking lot of Sault College was entered and cash and shoes were reported stolen.
