Breach On December 5th at 1:55 pm Patrol Officers, in a domestic related incident, arrested a 24 year old male on an arrest warrant for Breach of Recognizance. The male will attend bail court on December 6th. at 10:00.

Intimidation and Harrassement

Last evening officers with the Patrol Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33 year old Randy Bussineau of 588 Albert Street West unit 201 and charged him with one count of Intimidation of a justice system participant and one count of Criminal Harassment. 

It is alleged that on the 16th of October of this year Mr. Bussineau went to the residence of a male that was a witness in a proceeding that was before the courts on a matter that did not involve Mr. Bussineau.  While at the residence of the victim, the accused threatened him with regards to the testimony that was being provided.  As a result Mr. Bussineau was arrested and will appear in bail court today.

Vehicle Pedestrian Collision Solved:

With the assistance of the public, officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have been able to complete the investigation into an early morning collision involving a pedestrian on Bay Street at Spring Street.  Through the investigation it was found that all of the parties involved had fulfilled their obligations under the Highway Traffic Act and charges are not appropriate in this incident.  The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service wishes to thank the public for their continued assistance.

Earlier Release:

Officers with the Traffic Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a motor vehicle that was involved in a collision with a pedestrian this morning between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m.  This incident is still under investigation however at this point it is known that a pedestrian was struck in the area of Bay Street at Spring Street near the driveway of the Northern Credit Union.  The pedestrian involved did go to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  A piece of debris found at the scene suggests that the vehicle involved is grey or silver in colour.  Anyone who may have witnesses this incident or that may be able to assist police in identifying the driver involved is asked to contact Constable David Lapish of traffic services at (705) 949 6300 ext 295.

One Arrested for Criminal Harassment and two others for outstanding warrants

On the 4th of December 2012 officers with Patrol Services arrested 44 year old Robert O’Brien Hall of 243 McNabb Street and charged him with one count of assault and one count of criminal harassment.

It is alleged that over the past several months, the accused repeatedly followed a female victim in the area of McNabb Street after he had been warned not to.  This action caused the victim to fear for her safety and at one point the accused is alleged to have approached the victim from behind where he grabbed her by the shoulder and turned her around.  The victim soon after contacted police and the accused was subsequently arrested.  Mr. O’Brien Hall will appear in court on December 5th of this year.

27 year old Dustin Schrik of 561 Dundas Street was arrested yesterday afternoon by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Street Team.  Schrik was located in the downtown area and it was found that a warrant was out for his arrest for failing to appear in court and 2 counts of breach of probation.  Mr. Schrik was arrested and will appear in bail court today.

Yesterday afternoon officers with the Patrol Services Section of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located and arrested a 33 year old male in relation to several outstanding domestic violence charges.  It is alleged that in October of this year the accused was in the presence of a female that he is bound by conditions not to be around.  He further threatened the victim and assaulted her by grabbing her arms and holding her down to a bed.  It is further alleged that the accused ripped a necklace off of the neck of the victim causing it to break.  Earlier, in February of this year it is alleged that the accused assaulted the victim by striking her with a crystal ashtray that he had thrown at her while the two were involved in a verbal argument.  As a result, the accused is charged with four counts of breach of recognizance, one count of threatening, once count of assault, once count of mischief and one count of assault with a weapon.  He will appear in bail court today.

Assault:

25 year old Mason Ferguson of 441 Queen Street West was arrested by City Police officers on the 4th of December for assault and threatening. It is alleged he pushed a female victim and made threatening comments to her as well. Mr. Ferguson is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on January 7th 2013.

Theft:

It is alleged on the 4th of December, 47 year old Geoffrey Chamings of 181 James St. took a package of sausages from RJ’s Market and left without paying for them. He was picked up by City Police officers a short time later and charged with theft. Mr.Chamings is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on the 7th of January 2013.   

Threatening:

City Police officers responded to the Sault Area Hospital on the 4th of December regarding a threatening complaint. Information was received by officers from a female complainant that 20 year old Peter Armstrong who is a patient at the hospital, threatened to shoot her in the smoking area. Investigation revealed that Armstrong was not in possession of any firearms. He will be appearing in Court on the 7th of January 2013 to answer to a charge of threatening.
