LOCKER THEFT On the 25th of November at a local high school, a 15-year-old youth stole several articles from another student’s locker.

On the 25th of November at a local high school, a 15-year-old youth stole several articles from another student’s locker. The next day at the young person’s residence, the youth was found in possession of the stolen property from the locker.

Yesterday at 12:15 pm the accused was arrested and charged with theft, possession of stolen property and breach of probation. The youth will appear in court in early January.

GROCERIES NOT PAID FOR
At 8:40 pm last evening Patrol Officers were called to Rome’s Grocery Store on Great Northern Rd. where a male had removed several items from the store without paying for them.

Store Security had stopped the male, Winston Causley, age 33 of 235 McNabb Street and brought him back into the store. He actively resisted the staff member. Patrol Officers attended at the store and arrested and charged the accused with theft under $5,000.00, cause a disturbance by swearing, resist arrest and breach of probation. He will appear in court on January 12th.

ASSAULT CHARGE
On the 30th of November at approximately 4:50 pm Charlie Mercieca, age 30 of 22 Pardee Ave. assaulted a young person at the Station Mall by grabbing the youth by the cuff of the shirt and dragging the victim through the food court.

The accused became upset with the victim and a verbal argument escalated to an assault. The victim who was not known to the accused was not injured. Last night at 8:35 pm the accused was arrested and charged with Assault. He will appear in court on January 5th.

ANOTHER ASSAULT CHARGE
On December 1, 2003, the accused Thomas Roussain, age 33 of 75 Letcher Street assaulted another adult male by kicking and punching him. The assault took place near the area of Wallace Terrace and Goulais Ave.

The victim received minor injures in the assault. Early this morning at 12:23 am Patrol Officers arrested and charged the accused with Assault. He will appear in court on January 12th.

FENDER BENDER
At 12:48 pm yesterday, Patrol Officers were called to the intersection of Trunk Rd. and Dacey Rd. for a motor vehicle collision. Officers noted that 1994 Nissan car, being driven by Regina Power, age 50 of 48 Grove Cres., was being driven east on Trunk Road when it was struck by car turning left or westbound from the corner at Dacey Rd. Ross Boyle, age 46 of 53 Royal York Blvd, was driving the turning vehicle, a 1990 Ford car.

Power was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for minor injures. Another passenger in her car, Adam Blackwood, age 16 of Sault Ste. Marie was treated at the walk in clinic for his injures. Both vehicles were received moderate damage in the collision and were towed from the scene. Boyle has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway
