Domestic Related Arrests:

A 42 year-old male and a 32 year-old female were arrested last evening as a result of a domestic related incident that took place on the 9th of December on Gore Street. Just after 8 pm on the 9th of December, city police conducting routine patrol were flagged down by a person on Gore Street that reported an altercation taking place in a parked vehicle in that area. When officers approached the vehicle they observed a male holding down a female inside. Officers intervened and discovered that the two had been in a verbal argument and assaulted one another. When they ran a check on the female they discovered that she was on probation and on a release undertaking with conditions that she reside at an address in Thunder Bay, that she report to the Thunder Bay Police Service and had not done so and she was also to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
As a result, the male was charged with one count of assault and the female was charged with three counts of breach of a release document and two counts of breach of probation. They are both to appear in bail court this morning.

Third Person Arrested as a Result of Drug Search Warrant:

26 year-old Arleta Commanda of #301-115 Cambridge Place was arrested on an outstanding warrant yesterday morning at the city police station and charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
Commanda was the third person arrested as a result of a drug search warrant being executed at her residence at #301 -115 Cambridge Place on the 4th of December. She is to appear in court on the 19th of January, 2009.

Previous Release from the 5th of December:

30 year-old Jeffrey Jason Budge of 115 Cambridge Place, unit #301 has been charged with 4 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
29 year old Jean Paul Joseph Gauvin of 148 Pim Street, unit #3, has been charged with 1 count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
On the 4th of December members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, along with the Canine Unit and the Emergency Services Unit executed a warrant at the residence of Jeffrey Budge, at 115 Cambridge Place unit #301.Officers located drug paraphernalia, a digital scale, 5.1 grams of Cocaine, 35 Oxycontin tablets and 7 Oxycodone tablets. The estimated street value of the drugs is $7100.00. The accused Jeffrey Budge was arrested at the scene at 8:45pm and will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:

20 year-old Cherish Belleau of 66 Chambers Avenue was arrested on the 9th of December at 2:40 pm at the city police station on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to appear for prints from the 3rd of October. She is to appear in court on the 22nd of December.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Reports:

• A residence in the 200 block of Glasgow Avenue was entered sometime between the 1st of November and the 9th of December. A Wii console and some games were reported stolen.
• A residence on Pilgrim Street was entered sometime during the past three weeks. It is not known what was taken at this time.

Theft Report:

A homeowner in the 100 block of Strand Avenue reported Christmas Decorations stolen from the property.
