Vacant House Burns At approximately 12:40 a.m. the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Deptment and the City Police attended at 833 Bonney Street regarding a vacant house on fire. The home was totally engulfed in flames upon the arrival of the Fire Department.

At approximately 12:40 a.m. the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Deptment and the City Police attended at 833 Bonney Street regarding a vacant house on fire.

The home was totally engulfed in flames upon the arrival of the Fire Department.

The Ontario Fire Marshall has been contacted to investigate the fire.

Car Burglars

City Police were kept busy with reports of thefts from vehicles.

Thieves struck at the following locations:

- the 100 block of Upon Rd.
- the 600 block of Albert St.E.
- the 100 block of Sunnydale Rd.
- Two vehicles were entered in the 100 block of Simpson St.

Please don't leave any valuables in your vehicles

Break & Enters

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service investigated four reports of Break and Enters in the past 24 hours. Residences were entered in the following areas:

1. 500 block of Albert St. W. – Jewellery and a laptop computer were stolen.

2. 1800 block of Third Line W. – Jewellery reported stolen.

3. 100 block of Sunnydale Rd. – Unknown what was stolen at this time.

4. 100 block of Elmwood Ave. At approx. 2:40 PM a male broken into a home and threatened the tenants. The suspect then fled the scene running north on Elmwood towards Oryme Ave. Suspect is described as Male, Native, tall, braids on chin, wearing baggy jeans and a white muscle shirt.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call the City Police or Crimestoppers.
