Break and Enters The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating two Break and Enters from overnight. The first incident reported at approx. 12:15 AM, occurred at RYTAC- 11 McPhail Ave.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is investigating two Break and Enters from overnight. The first incident reported at approx. 12:15 AM, occurred at RYTAC- 11 McPhail Ave. Police were dispatched to this location as a result of an alarm. Upon arrival officers noticed that two of the boat storage garage doors were open. It is unknown at this time if anything was stolen. The alarm may have frightened the culprits off.

The second Break and Enter occurred at Dan’s Custom Repair at 860 Queen St.E. at approx. 4:35 AM. At this time a witness called police to advise that a male person had used a brick to break a side door window and gain entry to the garage. The suspect fled the scene, running west on Towers St. towards Pilgrim St. prior to police arrival. Suspect was described as a male wearing a hooded yellow sweatshirt, blue jeans and carrying a backpack. . Any person having information on this incident is asked to call the Sault Ste Marie Police or Crimestoppers.

Vehicle Strikes House

Yesterday afternoon, at approx. 3:35 PM City Police were called to investigate motor vehicle collision at John St. and Alexandra St. that resulted in one vehicle striking a house. In the incident a car-traveling west on Alexandra St. failed to stop for the stop sign and was struck by a vehicle traveling south on John St. The westbound vehicle then struck a house on John St. The accident resulted in three people being taken to hospital for minor injuries. Charged with Disobeying a Stop Sign is Steward Szostak, age 33 of White Oak Dr. Sault Ste Marie.

Assault

Early this morning City Police were called to an address in the Peoples Rd. and Second Line W. area regarding a domestic. Upon arrival officers spoke to the complainant and received information. As a result officers arrested a 21-year-old male and charged him with Assault, Threatening and Mischief. It is alleged that the accused attended at the victim’s residence and assaulted her after an argument. The assault consisted of him grabbing the victim and kicking her. The accused then threatened to kill her. During the argument the accused also cause damage to the victim’s property by breaking ornaments. The accused will be appearing in bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
