The following 4 persons will be appearing in bail court today. 1. Leta Hansen, age 48, of 125 Gore St. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon the accused was found on Gore St. in an intoxicated condition.
The following 4 persons will be appearing in bail court today.

1. Leta Hansen, age 48, of 125 Gore St. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon the accused was found on Gore St. in an intoxicated condition. The accused is on a recognizance release order prohibiting her from consuming alcohol. When the police went to arrest Ms Hansen she resisted the officers and assaulted the officers by spitting at them. She is charged with one count of breach of recognizance, one count of assault police and one count of resist arrest.

2. Kelly Labelle, age 45, of 75 James St. Apt 3. It is alleged that last night the accused was in an intoxicated condition on Queen St.W. The accused is on a recognizance release order and a probation order prohibiting her from having or consuming alcohol. She is charged with one count of breach of probation and one count of breach of recognizance.

3. Mary Gregoire, age 47, No fixed address. It is alleged that last evening the accused attended at the Norwest Inn, on Hynes St and stole a mini fridge from the deck of the motel and placed it in the rear of her pick up truck. When the motel manager attempted to prevent the accused from leaving the area the accused backed her vehicle up, struck the victim and pinned her behind her truck and another parked vehicle. Police arrived at this time and arrested the accused. Ms. Gregoire is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000, one count of assault with a weapon (vehicle) and one count of dangerous driving. The victim was transported to the Sault Area Hospital from treatment.

4. Craig Witty, age 35, of 51 Old Garden River Rd.
Ralph Burby, age 22, of 864 Queen St.E.

It is alleged that early this morning the two accused persons were on Morin St. and attempted to steal a motor vehicle. Police were called and arrested both males. At the time of their arrest the accused were in possession of housebreaking tools. It is further alleged that in attempting to steal the vehicle the accused persons broke a rear window on the vehicle. At the time of these offences the accused Witty was on a probation order to keep the peace and be good. Mr. Witty is charged with one count of attempt theft under $ 5,000, one count of possession of house breaking tools, one count of mischief under $ 5,000, one count of trespass by night and one count of breach of probation.

Mr. Burby is charged with one count of attempt theft under $ 5,000, one count of possession of house breaking tools, one count of mischief under $ 5,000, and one count of trespass by night. He will be appearing in court on Sept 10th.

Assault with a Pellet Gun

Bradley Charrette, age 18, of 108 Crawford Ave. It is alleged that on Saturday July 28th the accused fired a pellet rifle at a youth on Smale Ave. The youth was struck four times with BBs from the pellets rifle causing small welts on his back, leg and head. The victim did not require medical attention. The accused was not located on the date of the offence but turned himself in yesterday. He is charged with one count of assault with a weapon. He will be appearing in court on Sept 10th.

Suspicious Fire

The Fire Marshall’s Office and the Sault Ste Marie Police Service are still investigating a suspicious fire that occurred yesterday morning at 75 Edinburgh St. The fire caused extensive damage to the second floor of the building.

City police received two reports of break and enters yesterday.

Apartments were entered in the 100 block of Manilla Terr. and the 100 block of Carufel Ave. It is unknown at this time what was stolen.

There were two reports of mischief yesterday.

A shed at a residence in the 100 block of Rushmere Dr. was damaged.

The wooden bear carvings on Foster Dr (near the Civic Centre) were damaged.
