Possession of Stolen Property & Theft

26 Year old Matthew Sinobert-Jefferies of no fixed address and 25 year old Wayne Robert Sinobert-Briscoe of 506 Sherbourne Street, unit #2 were arrested yesterday morning just after 5am.

It is believed that on or between the 7th of April at approximately 5:30pm and the 8th of April at approximately 3am the two accused persons attended on Goulais Avenue and stole a 1988 Buick vehicle, damaging the ignition and steering column. They later abandoned that vehicle on White Oak Drive taking with them a pair of prescription glasses belonging to the owner of the vehicle.

The two accused then attended on Cathcart Street and stole a 1991 Chevy Blazer causing damage to the ignition and steering column. That vehicle was later abandoned on Wallace Terrace.

The two accused persons then attended on Bloor Street and stole a 1990 Buick, damaging the steering column and ignition. They had possession of this vehicle when they were observed by City Police near Second Line and Whitney Avenue. Officers followed this vehicle which was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle turned into an address on Rowell Avenue and the two accused abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene just after 3am. The K-9 unit attended and tracked the accused Wayne Sinobert-Briscoe and found him hiding in the yard of 371 Whitney Avenue. Matthew Sinobert-Jefferies was also tracked by the K-9 unit and found hiding in the yard of 176 Roosevelt. Matthew Sinobert-Jefferies was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

Matthew Sinobert-Jefferies has been charged with 4 counts of possession of stolen property, 3 counts of theft under $5000, 1 count of trespass by night and 1 count of breach of release conditions.

Wayne Robert Sinobert-Briscoe has been charged with 4 counts of possession of stolen property, 3 counts of theft under $5000, and 1 count of trespass by night.

Both will be attending bail court today.

Break & Enter

A residence in the 200 block of McMeeken Avenue was broken into. It is alleged that between 5:30pm on the 8th of April and 12:30am on the 9th of April, unknown persons broke into the residence and stole a computer and camera equipment.
