Possession & Trafficking On the 7th of April 2009 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Street Team as well as the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located at 26 Albert St. east apt. #2.
Possession & Trafficking

On the 7th of April 2009 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service’s Street Team as well as the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located at 26 Albert St. east apt. #2. The resident, 20 year old Tyler Stephen Ruzyski was charged with 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a narcotic and two counts on unauthorized possession of a weapon (a flick knife and a can of pepper spray). Drugs seized were cocaine, marihuana and ecstasy with a street value of approx. $1660.00. The accused will appear in court on the 11 May 2009. A 16 year old female was also at the residence and faces the same charges as well as one count of breaching her probation order. She will appear in court on the 12 May 2009.

Break, Enter & Theft

A 50 year old male, William Brian Archer of no fixed address will appear in bail court today charged with break, enter and theft after it is alleged that on the 5th of April 2009 the accused entered the Marconi Hall and stole a jacket and wallet. It is also alleged that the accused attempted to use a stolen credit card at a local business. When arrest the accused was found in possession of a small amount of marihuana and was charged with that. He also faces a charge for breaching his probation order.

Assault

Richard Raymond Levesque aged 32 of 604 Placid Ave. will appear in court on the 11 May 2009 to answer to a charge of assault. It is alleged that the accused attended at a residence on Hughes St. looking for a male, and when told that the male was not there he grabbed the female who had answered the door by the throat. The male then left and was located later by police.

Domestic Assault

A 46 year old male will appear in bail court today charged with an assault after it is alleged he a punched and kicked his girlfriend. The victim’s injuries were minor.

Robbery

At 03:31 am this morning patrol officer’s and the canine unit were dispatched to the Mac’s Convenience store located at Pine and Wellington St. after a lone male entered brandishing a butcher’s knife and demanded the money from the till and lottery tickets. The male is described as being 6’ tall, 240 lbs brown hair and had a striped shirt pulled over his face. The male fled the store north bound onto Pine St. The search of the area had negative results.

Break and Enters

A break in was reported to a home on Alworth Place yesterday. It appears that when the alarm sounded the suspect(s) fled the area. It has not been determined if anything was taken.

A break in to a home in the 200 block of Palace Drive was reported yesterday. Persons entered the home and a small amount of change as well as a black I-pod was taken.

A home on Panoramic was entered yesterday and a small amount of money as well as three rings were taken.

A break in was reported to a home in the 100 block of Tancred St. A laptop computer and a play station were taken.

All four of these break and enters happened during the daytime.
