SAULT COLLEGE CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY Earlier this morning the Sault Ste Marie Police Service received a bomb threat to Sault College.
SAULT COLLEGE CLOSED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY

Earlier this morning the Sault Ste Marie Police Service received a bomb threat to Sault College. This prompted the Police Service and Sault College to immediately evacuate all students and staff members from the building. The Police and Sault College Security are still in the process of searching the buildings on the premises.

Officers are still on scene investigating this incident and are advising the public that the school is closed and any and all activities at Sault College are cancelled for the remainder of the day.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is requesting the publics assistance and are asking the public to avoid the area of Sault College, specifically Northern Avenue, Pine Street and Willow Avenue until further notice.


Fire on Albert St. E

The Sault Ste Marie City Police along with Sault Ste Marie Fire Services responded to a fire yesterday afternoon just before 5pm at 314 Albert Street East. This fire remains under investigation at this time and more information will be released to the media, later this morning.

Two Arrested for Theft From A&P

Two 14 year old females were arrested yesterday just after 1pm at the A&P at 275 2nd Line West. It is believed that the two accused females attended at the store and were observed by store employees placing health and beauty products inside a purse. Both accused attempted to leave the store without making any attempt to pay for the items. When store staff attempted to apprehend one of the females, she bit his arm and then ran off with the co-accused. When the store staff caught up to her again she punched him in the face. She was eventually held until Police attended. She has been charged with 2 counts of assault, and 1 count of theft under $5000. The second accused in this incident smashed the front window of the store when store staff attempted to apprehend her. She then spit in the face of another employee. She was held until police arrived. She has been charged with 1 count of assault, 1 count of mischief under $5000 and 1 count of theft under $5000. They are both scheduled for court on the 3rd of June.

Police investigated 1 break and enter over the last 24 hours.

Between 9pm and midnight on the 30th of April someone broke into a residence in the 100 block of Blake Avenue and stole electronic equipment.

One report of mischief was taken by Police in the last 24 hours.

Sometime overnight on the 29th of April some vandalized a car parked in the 100 block of Cambridge Place.
