The Sault Ste Marie Police Service responded to four break and enters yesterday. Break-ins were reported to residences in the 100 block of Stanley St, the 400 block of Queen St. w. and to St Basil’s School in the 200 block of St. George’s Ave. E.

Break-ins were reported to residences in the 100 block of Stanley St, the 400 block of Queen St. w. and to St Basil’s School in the 200 block of St. George’s Ave. E. It is unknown at this time what was taken in these entries.

In the fourth break and enter a neighbour observed two males breaking into a residence in the 200 block of Hampton Rd. City police were called and the quick response by police and the Canine Unit resulted in the arrest of one male. Joseph Elie, age 25, of 483 Second Ave. was arrested and charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation. He will be appearing in bail court today. The second suspect was not located at this time.

Turned in on Theft & Breach Charges

At approx. 6:15 am yesterday morning city police arrested Dale Lambert, age 27, of 72 Cunningham Rd.
Mr. Lambert turned himself in to police on one charge of breach of recognizance and one charge of theft under. The offences are alleged to have taken place on March 12th 2007. He will be appearing in court on May 14th.

Failing to Appear in Court

Yesterday morning, at approx. 9:30 am city police arrested 21-year-old Robin Elie (male), of 55 Princeton Dr. on a warrant for failing to appear in court. It is alleged that Mr. Elie failed to attend court on April 2nd. Mr. Elie will be appearing in court on May 14th.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service received four reports of mischief yesterday.

A Beer Store truck was damage in the parking lot of 250 Bruce St.

A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Queen St. E. was damaged last night during the hockey game.

A window at a residence in the 300 block of First Ave was broken yesterday morning.

Unknown persons damaged the washers and dryers and then stole the coin from the machines in the laundry room at 819 Trunk Rd.

Thieves broke a vehicle window and then stole a purse from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of bay St.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to help reduce the number of daytime break and enters. Report any suspicious persons wandering your neighbourhood.
