Weapons call draws heavy police presence to Pine Street

Investigators believe that a firearm was pointed at two victims

Police responded to a weapons call on Pine Street last evening shortly before 7 p.m.

"911 Communicators received an emergency call from a victim saying someone pointed a gun at them from outside their residence," says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

"Detectives developed grounds to believe a gun was pointed at two victims. No physical injuries have been reported."

The incident remains under investigation.

On March 6, 2023 at 6:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received an emergency call from a victim saying someone pointed a gun at them from outside their residence on Pine Street.

Police responded with significant resources and secured the area. Traffic was diverted on Pine Street and McNabb Street while police contained the scene. The multi-unit residence in the 600 block of Pine Street was cleared to ensure the safety of all residents.

Detectives from Investigation Services were assigned to the incident and began an investigation. During the investigation, detectives developed grounds to believe a gun was pointed at two victims. No physical injuries have been reported.
