An injured bald eagle was found on the shoulder of the “C” line road near Clark’s Cove on St. Joseph Island. The eagle was brought to Northland Animal Hospital in Sault Ste Marie where it was confirmed to be shot with a shotgun

Crime Stoppers and the The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNFR) are seeking the public’s assistance for information about the shooting of a bald eagle.

The Bald Eagle is a well-known bird of prey with a bright white head, neck and tail, and a dark brown body. Its massive beak is bright yellow, as are its powerful legs. 

 At approximately 11 p.m. on June 11, 2017 an injured bald eagle was found on the shoulder of the “C” line road near Clark’s Cove on St. Joseph Island. The eagle was brought to Northland Animal Hospital in Sault Ste Marie where it was confirmed to be shot with a shotgun.
