VIDEO: Police investigate after store clerk threatened with knife

Incident took place at a McNabb Street convenience store on January 6

Crime Stoppers is hoping to identify two individuals suspected of threatening a store clerk with a knife during an incident that occurred on Jan. 6.

A news release issued today by Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie states that the pair are also suspected of shoplifting items from a McNabb Street convenience store prior to the altercation.

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of robbery.

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., two suspects attended a convenience store in the area of McNabb Street.

The female purchased some items while at the counter, while the male allegedly selected several items valued at approximately $30 and concealed them in his coat.

There was an altercation inside the store between the suspects and the store clerk. The store clerk followed them out of the store until [it is alleged that] they were threatened with a knife and told to stop following them. The suspects were last seen near Poplar Avenue.
