Sault Police say they arrested a very uncooperative trespasser last night who refused to leave another person’s property.

Police were dispatched to a home in the 0-100 block of Grand Boulevard at around 9:20 p.m. after someone phoned 911 to report “an unwanted person outside.”

“Upon arrival, officers advised the accused to leave the property numerous times and they refused to do so,” says a news release issued Thursday by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Despite physically resisting officers, the accused was arrested. The accused is known to the property owners.”

Jonathan Sullivan, 51, is charged with trespassing at night and obstructing a peace officer.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on June 3.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Sullivan is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
