Unauthorized purchases result in fraud charges

On July 21, 2017 officers with the Investigations Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34-year-old Crystal Wagner of Bloor Street West in relation to a fraud investigation.

It is alleged that on June 30, the accused and another female located a bank card belonging to a victim that was not known to them. The two then used the bank card to make just under $90 in unauthorized purchases. 

Wagner was arrested on July 21 and charged with one count of fraud and one count of breach of probation. 

She will appear in court on Aug. 28, 2017. Officers are continuing to make attempts to locate the second female.
