Two youth charged after series of break-ins in Thessalon, Huron Shores

THESSALON - On April 2, 2019 to April 6, 2019, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police received a report of numerous break and enters at locations in the Town of Thessalon and Huron Shores Township.

Members of the East Algoma OPP completed the investigation, with the assistance of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit and OPP Scenes of Crime Officers. Two males were located and arrested. Property was also recovered during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation two people were charged.  

An 18-year-old male from Thessalon First Nation was charged with:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence (six counts) contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Possession of Pproperty obtained by crime under $5,000 (six Counts) contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC,

A 17-year-old male from Thessalon First Nation was charged with:

  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence (six counts) contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC, and
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (six Counts) contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC

The accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River to answer to their charges.
