Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a fatal fire at an abandoned home located in the 200 block of Huron Street around 9 p.m. Wednesday night.
"Officers were dispatched and on arrival the house was fully engulfed in flames," Sault Police said in a news release. "Once Fire Services extinguished the fire, two people were located deceased inside the residence."
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service does not believe the cause of the blaze is criminal in nature.
Officers remain on scene as the investigation is ongoing with the Ontario Fire Marshall and the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.
