Sault Ste. Marie Police say they've arrested two people after an incident that took place earlier this week.

In a release sent out today, police say they conducted a traffic stop on Wilson Street last night at 8:42 p.m. when they observed what was believed to be cannabis on the centre console of the vehicle.

Officers say they then asked the two accused to step out of the vehicle so the officers could conduct a search of the occupants and the vehicle under the Cannabis Control Act.

Upon this search, police say they found open containers of cannabis and 102 pills believed to be methamphetamine, labeled ICE.

Upon arrest, police formed cause to believe the driver under the influence of drugs and administered a roadside test, which was failed.

As a result, they were both arrested and Austin Printess-O’Neill, 22, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and impaired driving – alcohol and drugs.

Breanna Carpinteiro, 18, was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 7.
