POLICE CATCH 3RD SUSPECT Late Friday evening City Police arrested and charged a 15-year-old youth with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of probation. The youth was remanded to bail court.
POLICE CATCH 3RD SUSPECT
Late Friday evening City Police arrested and charged a 15-year-old youth with one count of break and enter and one count of breach of probation. The youth was remanded to bail court. He was the third youth wanted in the break and enter reported on September 3rd. Here is the release from September 3rd:


FORCED GIRLFRIEND INTO CAR
As reported by SooToday.com Sunday morning, a 19-year old male was remanded to bail court after OPP officers assisting City Police arrested him.

Late Saturday evening, his ex-girlfriend had been in a restaurant when the accused showed up and forced her to go out to his vehicle.

OPP officers, who had been provided a description of the vehicle by City Police, spotted the vehicle.

The accused was arrested in the Batchewana area without incident and the female was fine. It was noted by the officers that there was a .22 rifle and a .410 shotgun in the back of the vehicle. Neither firearm had trigger locks and there was also ammunition in the back of the vehicle.

The accused has been charged with one count of forcible confinement and two counts of careless storage of a firearm.


ASSAULTS
A 38-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after City police received a complaint from a female regarding her boyfriend assaulting her. It is alleged that on Saturday night the couple got into an argument at the male’s east end home. He became upset and jumped on her as well as slapping her in the face. The female struggled to get away and landed on the floor. The male then punched her in the face a number of times. The victim was also kicked a number of times.

The victim reported the matter to the police yesterday when officers also took her to the hospital to have her injuries checked out. The officers noted that the left side of her face was very swollen and her left eye, ear and cheek were also bruised. The male was arrested last evening and has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of assault.


Also, a 31-year-old male will be appearing in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on Monday evening he broke into the home of his estranged wife and assaulted her by pushing her.

At the time of the break and enter the accused was on a release document with conditions to not communicate with the victim. The male has been charged with one count of assault, one count of break and enter and one count of breach of a release order.


CUSTOMS ARREST IMPAIRED
On the Saturday, shortly after midnight, customs officers stopped the driver of a vehicle who showed signs of impairment. The accused was arrested by customs officers and turned over to city police.

The accused refused to provide a breath sample. Gino Signoretti, age 51, of 140 Albert Street West has been charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of failing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on October 4th.


THROWING ROCKS AT CARS
On Saturday evening patrol officers arrested two 15-year-old youths after a report had been received on the 28th of August of 2 youths throwing rocks at vehicles on McNabb Street. The youths broke the windshield of a car that was driving by and fortunately no one was injured. The youths have each been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. They will both appear in court on October 5th.



CAR & BIKE COLLIDE
On Saturday evening patrol officers took a report of an accident with injuries involving a bike and a car. It is alleged that a car driven by 42-year-old Kelly Smith of Spadina Avenue struck a bicycle operated by Michael Dawyd of Promenade Avenue.

Witnesses were interviewed and it appears that Mrs. Smith did not see Mr. Dawyd on his bike when she pulled out of the driveway of 381 McNabb Street. Mr. Dawyd had been riding his bike on the sidewalk at the time of the accident.

Mrs. Smith has been charged with failing to yield from a driveway under the Highway Traffic Act. Mr. Dawyd was charged under the City ByLaw77-200 with riding on the sidewalk.

Mr. Dawyd did not require medical treatment at the time of the accident for his injuries.
