Five Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 50 year-old male on the 5th of September and charged him with three counts of assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on that date the accused got into a verbal argument with his common law wife, assaulted and threatened to kill her. When officers were investigating the domestic dispute they learned that the accused had assaulted the victim on two other occasions in July.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 39 year-old male on the 2nd of September and charged him with two counts of assault, one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of mischief under $5,000. It is alleged that on that date the accused assaulted and threatened to kill his common law partner. Further, the accused damaged her phone when she attempted to call police. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault. When officers were investigating the domestic dispute they learned that the accused had assaulted and threatened the victim during the first week of July.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 30 year-old female twice over the past weekend and charged her with one count of assault, two counts of breach of probation and one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 3rd of September around 3:30 am the accused assaulted her ex-boyfriend while at a west end residence. The accused was arrested and later released on an undertaking with conditions not to communicate with the victim but continuously called and harassed him after being released. She was arrested on the breaches on the 6th of September. At the time of the incidents the accused was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29 year-old female on the 2nd of September on an outstanding domestic related warrant at her residence and charged her with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 16th of July the accused assaulted her ex-boyfriend at Clergue Park. At the time she was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38 year-old male on the 5th of September at 9:30 pm at the residence of a female that he was on a recognizance order with conditions that he not attend at due to previous domestic related charges. He was charged with two counts of breach of a release document.

Female Arrested for Public Mischief

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 46 year-old Katherine Harrison of #311-138 East Street on the 5th of September at 1:50 am and charged her with one count of public mischief.

It is alleged that on the 4th day of September at approximately 10:01 pm the accused reported that she had been shot by two persons known to her while in the area of the railway tracks near Bruce Street and Wellington Street East.

Several officers were dispatched to the reported incident and an investigation commenced. Police investigating the incident discovered that the accused mislead them and that the shooting did not take place.

As a result the accused was charged with public mischief. The accused is to attend in court on the 17th of October.

Intoxicated Male Arrested and Charged with Drug Possession

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Justin Thibeault of 10 Wright Street on the 3rd of September at 3:42 am on Bennett Boulevard and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of intoxicated in a public place.

It is alleged that on the 3rd of September police were called to attend at the bus shelter on Bennett Boulevard by Heath Road in regards to the accused being passed out. Officers arrived and found the accused in an intoxicated state and arrested him for public intoxication. When the accused was being searched he was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of October.

Male Arrested for Pawning Stolen Property

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 53 year-old Gerald Chretien of #207-334 Dacey Road on the 3rd of September and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 6th of May the accused attended at a local pawn shop and and pawned a stolen compound archery bow.

At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions that he keep the peace and be good. The accused is to appear in court on the 5th of October.

Male Arrested for Residence Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Thomas Agawa of #8-160 Frontenac Street on the 5th of September at 12:50 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of break and enter a dwelling, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on 5th of September the accused broke into a residence of a person known to him on Wellington Street East and stole an Xbox, a television, a laptop and a back pack. The accused was later found in possession of the items at his residence. The accused was on a probation order at the time to keep the peace and be good.

The accused is to attend in court on the 17th of October.

Male Arrested for Business Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 34 year-old Patrick Woodcox of #3E-346 Albert Street West on the 5th of September at 6:15 pm on Great Northern Road and charged him with one count of break and enter and one county of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 5th of September at approximately 6:00 pm the accused attempted to steal welding and booster cables from a business in the 1700 block of Great Northern Road.

A family member of the owner found the accused on the property attempting to leave with the items. He apprehended him and held him for police. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of October.

Shoplifting Related Arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 41 year-old Richard Turner of #B9-171 Willow Avenue on the 2nd of September at 7:05 am on North Street and charged him with one count of intoxicated in a public place, one count of theft under $5,000.00 and two counts of breach of a release document.

On the 2nd of September at approximately 7:05 am police located an intoxicated male sleeping on a stairwell at the North Street Ball Park. At the time the accused was wanted in relation to a theft incident the previous day at the LCBO in the Station Mall. At the time the accused was on undertakings conditions not to attend at the LCBO Store. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of October.
