Male Arrested for Assault 30 year-old Christian Meyer of 89 Forest Avenue was arrested on the 30th of September just before 1 am at the city police station and charged with one count of assault.

30 year-old Christian Meyer of 89 Forest Avenue was arrested on the 30th of September just before 1 am at the city police station and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a male known to him on Forest Avenue around 2:30 pm on the 29th of September. The 29 year-old male victim received non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

Impaired Driver Arrested

38 year-old Timothy Mason of 211 Moss Road was arrested on the 29th of September at 6:25 pm on Wallace Terrace and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 29th of September around 6:05 pm city police received information regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Wallace Terrace. At approximately 6:18 pm city police located the vehicle pulling into the Tenaris parking lot at on Wallace Terrace. When police checked the driver, the accused, he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He is to appear in court on the 10th of November.

Male Arrested for Possession of Marihuana

28 year-old Brian Cattapan of 136B Central Park Avenue was arrested on the 29th of September at 9:50 pm at his residence and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that on September 29th, city police were investigating a neighbour dispute and when they were investigating the matter they found the accused to be in possession of 2.6 grams of marihuana at his residence. He is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

Male Youth Arrested for Mischief at the Donald Doucet Centre

A 17 year-old male youth was arrested on the 29th of September at 7:47 pm while in custody at the Donald Doucet Youth Centre on Second Line East and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 29th of September at approximately 4:30 pm the youth damaged a sprinkler head in the unit he was in causing the area to be flooded out. The estimated amount of damaged was approximately $4,000.00. He is to appear in court on the 4th of November.

Two Shoplifters Arrested

1) 19 year-old Steven McCanna of #1-32 Queen Street East was arrested on the 29th of September at around 9:15 pm at the Dollarama in Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that he attended at the store just after 9 pm last night and stole batteries, candles and a brush. He is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

2) A 17 year-old female youth was arrested on the 29th of September at 4:16 pm at Sears in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that she attended at Sears on the 29th of September just before 4 pm and stole a watch. She was apprehended by store security and held for police. She is to appear in court on the 4th of November.

Motor Vehicle Collision Sends Two Injured Drivers to Hospital

City police attended at a motor vehicle collision yesterday morning around 8:44 am at the intersection of Lake Street and Macdonald Avenue that sent both drivers to hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that a 60 year-old female that was driving a Mercury vehicle northbound on Lake Street attempted to make a left turn onto Macdonald Avenue when it struck a Kia that was southbound on Lake Street being operated by a 26 year-old male.
As a result, the driver of the Mercury, Cheryl Linklater of 79 Dauphin Drive was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with one count of left turn- fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision

Property Crimes:

Theft Reports

- Vehicles were entered on Poplar Avenue, Woodlawn Avenue and Muriel Drive overnight on the 28th029th of September. Two wallets, change and Identification were reported stolen.
- A bike was reported stolen from Cardinal Leger School on Rankin Road.

Mischief Reports

- A rear window of a truck parked on Rossmore Road was smashed.
- A vehicle parked in the 100 James Street lot had the front and back windshield smashed and a door kicked in.
- A snowplow on Goulais Avenue was damaged sometime over the past weekend.

Break and Enter

A residence in the 300 block Morin Street was entered the 28th or 29th of September. A PS2, and Xbox, and several DVD’S were reported stolen.
