Wanted Male Michael Matuszyk Arrested Michael Matuszyk, age 55, of 206 Spruce Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team last evening around 5:10 pm at the Sault Ste.
Wanted Male Michael Matuszyk Arrested
Michael Matuszyk, age 55, of 206 Spruce Street was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team last evening around 5:10 pm at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service building after turning himself with regards to a warrant. The accused has been charged with six counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance, three counts of careless use or storage of a firearm, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a weapon obtained by crime, three counts of possession of a firearm knowing possession unauthorized and three counts of possession of a prohibited firearm. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Further Charges Laid on Accused Persons Lorraine Matuszyk and Marc Gollain
As a result of further investigation, the two accused persons arrested earlier, Lorraine Matuszyk age 51 of 206 Spruce Street, and Marc Gollain, age 32 of 1651 Grainery Lake Road, Blind River, were arrested last evening while in custody at the Algoma Remand and Treatment Centre and face additional charges of :
Lorraine Matuszyk: two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime and four counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Marc Gollain: two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, one count of possession of a firearm obtained by crime and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance.
The new weapons/firearms charges will relate primarily to the possession of an Intratec “Tech-9” 9mm semi automatic machine pistol and a .44 cal handgun that officers also located and seized during this investigation.
No further persons are being sought at this time. Several of the charges are in relation to Searches Warrants that were executed at 206 Spruce Street, the residence of Lorraine and Michael Matuszyk and also a search of storage unit that they and the co-accused Marc Gollain were utilizing. The investigation is ongoing regarding some of the weapons seized and further charges may be pending.

Male Arrested for Domestic Related Incident
A 32 year-old male was arrested by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service last evening at his residence and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that he got into a verbal argument with his common law spouse at their residence and when she attempted to call police he ripped the phone from the wall, damaging it. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Males Arrested for Possession of Stolen Metal Ties
36 year-old Carmen Aelick and 41 year-old Richard Aelick, both of 43 Wellington Sttreet West were arrested at their residence yesterday by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and charged with one count each of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 20th of September the accused males attended at Triple M Metals at 131 Yates Avenue and sold $2135.00 in stolen Huron Central Railway metal ties as scrap metal. The metal railway ties were found to be the property of Huron Central Railway and had been stolen sometime in the past week from a site in Thessalon and a site in Blind River. Huron Central Railway had reported the metal ties stolen from these two locations over the past few days. At the time of the offence, both accused were on probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. They are to appear in court on the 25th of October.

Male Shoplifter Arrested
20 year-old Stephen Labre of 100 Shepherd Drive in Hanmner Ontario was arrested at Wal Mart on the 20th of September at 11:05 by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00.It is alleged that he attended at the store yesterday morning and stole some medication. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to attend in court on the 25th of October.

Single Motor Vehicle Collision Under Investigation
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a single motor vehicle collision that occurred at 11:30 pm last evening on Bruce Street. It is alleged that the 44 year-old male driver of a Ford car was travelling eastbound on Bruce Street when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the westbound lane and collided into a building at the corner of Algoma Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was demolished and the building received substantial damage. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
