Arrests/Charged Persons:
On September 17, 2012 City Police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and executed a warrant. The accused Heiko Schmitz age 41 was arrested for theft under $5000 and will appear in bail court on September 18, 2012 at 10:00am.

On September 17, 2012 City Police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and arrested a male age 49 for disobeying a court order. It is alleged that the accused called the victim of a domestic matter knowing that he was on conditions not to communicate with the victim. The accused will appear in bail court September 18, 2012 at 10:00am.

On September 17, 2012 City Police were in the area of Wellington Street East at Bruce Street on a domestic matter. Police observed a 2006 Hyundai make a right turn against a red light at a high rate of speed and enter the oncoming traffic lane. The vehicle came to a stop on Bruce Street at a local business. It is alleged that the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and made the driver make the turn onto Bruce Street putting the driver in jeopardy. It was found that the accused was in possession of restricted drugs and controlled drugs. The accused age 23 was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance (morphine) and possession of a restricted drug (clonazepam). The accused will appear in a bail court on September 18, 2012 at 10:00am.

On September 17, 2012 an accused turned herself in at the Police Station on an outstanding warrant. The warrant was outstanding from when the female was a young person. The accused is charged with 1 count of breach of probation and will attend court Tuesday October 23rd 2012 at 9:30am.
Update on Albert Street Assault
Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service have arrested 26 year old Jayme Ryan Bellerose of 28 Manitou Drive in relation to an assault call at 142 Albert Street West. On the 16th of September, the accused was engaged in a verbal argument with a male victim that was known to him while at the residence of a mutual acquaintance. The argument escalated and the victim was struck in the head with a beer bottle, and cut in the forehead with a knife. When the victim fell to the floor, the accused then took an amount of cash from the victim and left the scene. As a result of the investigation Mr. Bellerose has been charged with one count of robbery. He will be held for bail court on September 18th 2012.
Property Crimes:
Break and Enter reported in the 500 block of Cathcart Street. The resident reports that a quantity of prescribed medication was taken.
