The following two persons will be appearing in bail court this morning:

1) A 34 year-old male was arrested at the city police station on the 17th of September at 12:56 pm and charged with one count of criminal harassment, one charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and five counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 17th of September around 12:55 pm city police found the accused engaged in a verbal argument with his ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of the city police station. Officers soon learned from the ex-girlfriend that the accused was driving in his vehicle and that he had followed her vehicle around several city streets and that at times intentionally made contact with her vehicle. The victim drove to the city police station to report the incident. When officers ran a check on the accused they discovered that he was on a recognizance order with conditions not to communicate with the victim and not to molest, harass or annoy her. Officers also learned that the accused was staying at the victim’s residence when he was supposed to be residing with a surety at a different address and not attend at her residence and that he had followed her on several other occasions. It is further alleged that on this date the accused had left nineteen messages on her phone. There was no damage to the vehicles or physical injuries to the victim reported.

2) A 22 year-old male was arrested on Wilson Street on the 18th of September at 12:18 am and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused got into a family dispute at his centrally located residence last evening around 11:36 pm and assaulted his father by grabbing him and then punching him in the face.

Outstanding Warrants

24 year-old Michael Boyer of 227 Ceshire Road was arrested at the city police station yesterday at 2:30 pm after turning himself in on several outstanding warrants. He has been charged with two counts of fail to appear court and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear court on the 28th of November 2005 and on the 19 January 2006. It is further alleged that the accused breached his probation by not paying Crime Stoppers a $100 donation as part of his probation order and he failed to keep the peace and be on good behaviour. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of October.

Breach of Release Document

36 year-old Christine Aitel of Room#9-874 Queen Street East was arrested on the 17th of September at 11:55 pm at her residence and charged with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that city police were called to a tenant dispute around 11:55 hours at her address and when officers were speaking with her they found her to be under the influence of alcohol. When they ran a check on her they discovered that she was on conditions not to consume any alcohol.

Theft From Rome's

A 16 year-old male youth was arrested on the 17th of September at 10:10 am at Rome’s Independent Grocers on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act of Ontario. It is alleged that the accused attended at Rome’s around 9:30 am yesterday and stole approximately $19.14 worth of groceries. The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police. At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be on good behaviour. He is to appear in court on the 30th of October.

Fail to Appear

27 year-old Ryan Point was arrested on the 17th of September at 11:30 are at the court house on Queen Street East. It is alleged that the accused attended court on some outstanding matters and at the time it was discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to appear for prints on the 6th of September. He was charged with one count of fail to appear for fingerprints. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of October.

Car Accident on Great Northern/Second Line

City police were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Second Line East yesterday morning around 8:51 am that sent two persons to hospital by ambulance and involved three vehicles. A 1998 Oldsmobile was eastbound in the left turn lane of Second Line East attempting to make a left turn onto Great Northern Road when a 1998 GMC Pick-up that was traveling westbound on Second Line East allegedly failed to stop for the red light at Great Northern Road. The two vehicles collided, resulting in the pickup truck veering into the right turn lane and striking a third vehicle, a 2006 GMC pick-up. The female driver of the GMC Pick-up, 23 year-old Carlee Brescacin of 313 Cheshire Road was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and later charged with one count of red light – fail to stop under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. The 49 year-old female driver of the Oldsmobile was also transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The GMC and the Oldsmobile were severely damaged and the 2006 GMC received moderate damage.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday:

1) A residence in the 300 block on Pine Street was entered on the 17th of September around 1-2 pm.

2) A play station, 2 video games from Block Busters, 20-25 DVD’S, a camera and some cash was stolen.

3) A residence on Euclid Road was entered on the 17th of September between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm. It is not known what was taken at this time.

4) A residence in the 1000 Block of Second Line West was entered around 12:00 – 1:00 pm on the 17th of September. Some cash was stolen.

5) Kentucky Fried Chicken on Trunk Road was entered overnight after 11 pm on the 17th of September. Some cash was stolen.

6) Jerry’s Auto on Gore Street was entered – it is not known what was taken.

7) The Flower Shop on Gore Street was entered on the 17th of September in the early morning hours of the 17th of September. It is not known if anything was taken at this time.
