TWO ASSAULTS A 29-year-old male will appear in court on October 18th after being arrested yesterday morning by City Police. It is alleged that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend by hitting her on the head with a beer bottle on the 11th of September.

A 29-year-old male will appear in court on October 18th after being arrested yesterday morning by City Police. It is alleged that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend by hitting her on the head with a beer bottle on the 11th of September. The victim received minor injuries. The accused had left the scene of the incident prior to police arrival, but he did turn himself in to police yesterday. The male has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.

Carmela Ucci, age 41, of 411-31 Old Garden River Road was arrested last evening for assault. It is alleged that the accused got into an altercation with another female last evening in a residence in the City’s central area, and grabbed the victim by the face. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on October 25th.


BROKE WINDOW WITH HIS CANE
Yesterday morning city police received a report of a male breaking a window in a vehicle with his cane in the downtown area. He reached into the van to try and steal belongings. He left the area and police were called.

A short time later police were able to make an arrest based on a description from witnesses as well as one witness pointing out the accused. Michael Lacrosse, age 34, of 385 Cathcart Street has been charged with one count of mischief and one count of theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on October 18th.


MAN ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES
Yesterday afternoon, an officer from the Investigation Services Section arrested a 37-year-old male for a number of sexual related offences. The incidents are alleged to have occurred over the summer time and involve a young child.

The accused has been charged with 3 counts of sexual interference and 3 counts of sexual assault. The name of the accused is not being released as it may identify the victim in this incident.


ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES
Yesterday evening officers were called to Trunk Road in the 600 block for an accident with injuries.

It is alleged that a car driven by 74-year-old Wilda Montgomery of MacDonald Avenue pulled out of a driveway on Trunk Road and struck a van being driven by Tracy-Lynn Broadbent of East Champagne. Both drivers were taken by ambulance for treatment of their injuries. A passenger in the van did not receive any injuries. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

Mrs. Montgomery has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Fail to Yield from Private Driveway.


STOREY FURNITURE BREAK-IN
Yesterday morning city police were called to at Storey Furniture Warehouse on Edinburgh Street for a break and enter. Overnight thieves gained entry into the Warehouse and made off with electronic equipment, including amps, musical stands and microphones. The culprits also drove away from the crime scene in a cube van belonging to the store.

The equipment was recovered yesterday in the downtown area and the van was located later in the day as well in the O’Sullivan Funeral Home Parking lot. City police are asking you’re your help. If you witnessed the van being left at this location or know who may be responsible for this break and enter call city police.
