Two Shoplifting Arrests Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32 year-old Jeremy Logan of #645-59 Old Garden River Road at 3:15 pm yesterday at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.
Two Shoplifting Arrests

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32 year-old Jeremy Logan of #645-59 Old Garden River Road at 3:15 pm yesterday at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on the 12th of September around 2:47 pm the accused attended at the store and stole approximately $216.31 worth of merchandise. The accused is to appear in court on the 3rd of October.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26 year-old Graham Tarrant of #1-326 Albert Street West at 5:30 pm and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at Pet Value at the Cambrian Mall and stole some dog food. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of October.

Male Arrested for Assault

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49 year-old male at 3:43 pm yesterday and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 8th of September the accused assaulted his 20 year-old daughter while at a local business. The accused is to appear in court on the 17th of October.

Two Males Arrested for Theft of Copper Wire from Local Business

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two males at 1:13 am this morning on Conmee Avenue in relation to theft of copper wire from a local business. It is alleged that on the 12th of September around midnight, the two males broke into the business compound and stole approximately $1,200 worth of copper wire. The males were observed leaving the property with the wire in the back of a half ton truck.

Officers responding to the call located and stopped the truck with the two males inside on Conmee Avenue and recovered the stolen copper wire. As a result both males, 18 year-old Sebastien Audette of 107 Trelawne Avenue and 18 year-old Jason Hampleman of 498 Old Hwy 17 Goulais River, were arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. Both are to appear in court on the 17th of October.

Break and Enters

• The construction site on Weldon Avenue was broken into sometime over the past weekend. Several tools were reported stolen.
• A residence on Wellington Street West was entered over the past weekend. A passport A PS3, a HP Computer, speakers and several DVD’s and games were reported stolen.
• A residence in the 500 block of Second Line West was entered and some medication was reported taken.
• A garage was entered in the 600 block of Queen Street West.

Theft Reports

• A wallet was stolen that had been left inside a vehicle parked in a lot at a downtown business last night.
• A bike was stolen from Macdonald Avenue.
• Licence plates were reported stolen from vehicles on Poplar Avenue and Pine Street.
• Scrap metal, including several hot water tanks and two oil tanks were stolen from a local business on Industrial Park Crescent.
• A Handicap driver’s permit was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Cambrian Mall yesterday morning.

Mischief Reports

A truck on Market Street was keyed.

RIDE Results form Past Weekend

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service conducted the RIDE Program on Friday evening. There were 1136 vehicles checked and only one provincial offence notice was given.
